Who is Mr. Williams?

Teacher, Instructional Technology Specialist, Coach, Broadcast Club Moderator.

The Family Business• I come from a family of educators. • My Mom is a special education

teacher at Burton Street Elementary School.

• My Grandfather was a Dean at Mission College.

• My Grandmother was a music teacher at Venice High School for thirty years.

• My Uncle is a school superintendent in the South Bay.

• My Aunt is a principal in Hawthorne.

• One cousin is a resource teacher in Compton

• One cousin is studying to become a speech teacher.

Tests

• Tests will be given at the end of every chapter.

• A practice test will be handed out before each test.

• The practice test is almost exactly like the regular test.

• Each test is worth 75 points. • .

Retests!

• Each student will be allowed to retake one test or quiz every semester to try for a higher grade. However, there are some conditions that must be met before retaking a test or quiz……..

Retest Requirements

• The student must notify me of their desire to use this privilege within one week of getting the test/quiz back.

• Semester Finals may not be retaken.• The privilege is “use it or lose it.” No saving a

first semester retake for use in the second semester.

Important facts to know about homework!

• Doing homework is crucial to success in this class

• Homework is the student’s time to practice• Homework will be completed in Microsoft One

Note and submitted in Blackboard (step by step instructions are on Blackboard).

• In the case of technical problems, homework can be completed on paper.

What if a student doesn’t understand a homework question?

• Homework is never collected until we go over it in class.

• Subjects range from USC Football to shopping at Hollister to balancing a checkbook and more.

• Example: There is a sale at Hollister where you will get a second shirt at 50% off if you buy one at original price. Both shirts are $15.00 with tax. How much are both shirts?
