THE AZTECS
When and Where? The Aztec people
were ethnic groups of central Mexico, who dominated large parts of Mesoamerica from the 14th to 16th century.
THE AZTEC CIVILIZATION
From the 13th century, the Valley of Mexico was the heart of the Aztec civilization. Tenochtitlán, the capital of the Aztec Triple Alliance, was a city-state built upon raised islets in Lake Texcoco.

When Cortes and the Spaniards arrived in Tenochtitlán, Montezuma welcomed and brought them to his palace. Some time later he became prisoner in his own palace and was killed.
Daily Life The Aztec daily life was quite simple. In fact,
Aztec family life was very similar to many modern day cultures. For example, the husband was responsible for supporting the family and the wife’s role was to provide the family with clothes and food.
