Awesome Lives Here March 2019 Justify & Tell Why
Make sure to join us for the Wade Carpenter Science Night on Tues-day, March 5, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in our Gymnasium. The Science Department has been working extremely hard to have on display all of the student projects. Students have been working in teams of three or four or with a partner and they are excited about sharing their projects with our school community. We want to invite and remind you of the Parent/Teacher Confer-ences that will take place at Wade Carpenter on Wednesday, March 6,
from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Our Teachers are looking forward to meeting with all of our families. Please make sure to come to our second Parent/Teacher Conferences of the year to receive the most recent academic updates for your students. We have a great opportunity for our seventh graders on Thursday, March 7, at 5:30 p.m. Coach Mendoza will be facilitating our Healthy Families/Healthy Youth Night. He has a Great Team for this program that is an educational event developed by the Governor's Office of Youth, Faith and Family to cultivate positive choices regarding Youth substance use. We hope to see you at these great events for our Wade Carpenter Middle School Communi-ty. Have a great Month of March.

Valentines Day (Wikipedia) Is celebrated annually on February 14. It originated as a West-
ern Christian feast day honoring one or two early saints named Valentinus. Valentine's Day is
recognized as a significant cultural, religious, and
commercial celebration of romance and romantic
love in many regions around the world, although it is
not a public holiday in any country.
There was a lot of love at WCMS this Valentines Day.
The office was

with chocolates,

School Choice
School Choice allows public education funds to follow students to the schools or service that best fit their
needs. Parents choose for their kids.
Spring is coming and with it, migrant birds will begin to return to Arizona. migration for birds is important
because there timing is crucial. Birds migrate from Central American, South America and Mexico to North
America when many of the food sources such as seeds, insects, and nectar becomes available. Yet, with climate
change many of these food sources become available too early or later in the year, depending on the location.
When birds arrive, they find little food and have difficult time raising their chicks. This becomes a major issue be-
cause birds are key in the balance of an ecosystem. By losing birds many of the carnivores lose, an important food
source and insect population explode because they are no longer preyed upon by birds.
There is little we can do with the amount of CO2 that is in the atmosphere. However, here are some ways on
reducing your CO2 footprint. Turning of lights and conserving energy.; Carpooling to work or school. ;Plant more
native trees or flowering plants.

Snow in Nogales
On Friday, February 22, 2019 our classes were cancelled due to “Snow.” As we all know snow brings out our inner child. No one
wanted to fess up who had built the snowman and who was throwing the snowballs around, but then we caught the corprets red-
handed! Poor Mr. Snowman was left all by himself once everyone went home on Friday. Upon our return to school on Monday, Mr.
Snowman was no where to be found.
