MINISTERIALETHICS

“Too often the person who remains

responsive to the promptings of the

HOLY SPIRIT in ethical matters is

usually though of as …

MINISTERIALETHICS

Frustrated, unhappy, and guilt ridden. This

assumption is reinforced by a

culture that empheizes a

pleasure packed life in the…

MINISTERIALETHICS

in the fast line.”You know… “YOLO” you only live once… so have a blast while you last. Party party party no matter who

you hurt to do it.

MINISTERIALETHICS

DOMINION God gave man dominion over the animals and the earth to keep it and from evil, not that animal instincts should have dominion over man to make him evil.

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

PRINICPLES FOR MANKIND

GEN. 2:15-25 Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man,

saying,

GEN. 2:15-25“Of every tree of the garden you

may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you

shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

PRINICPLES FOR MANKIND

GEN. 2:15-2518 And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I

will make him a helper comparable to him.” 19 Out of the ground

the LORD God formed every beast

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

GEN. 2:15-25of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living

creature, that was its name.

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

PRINICPLES FOR MANKIND

GEN. 2:15-25 20 So Adam gave names to all

cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for

Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

PRINICPLES FOR MANKIND

GEN. 2:15-2521 And the LORD God caused a

deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs,

and closed up the flesh in its place.

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

PRINICPLES FOR MANKIND

GEN. 2:15-25 22 Then the rib which

the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. 23 And

Adam said:“This is now bone of my bones

GEN. 2:15-25And flesh of my flesh;

She shall be called Woman,Because she was taken out of

Man.”24 Therefore a man shall leave his

father and mother

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

GEN. 2:15-25and be joined to his wife, and they

shall become one flesh.25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not

ashamed.

MINISTERIALETHICS •PLEASURE

PRINCIPLES •Man was commanded to bring order and control to the natural lust of “NEPHESH” life, not that “NEPHESH” life would bring its unspirited lust to man’s spirit.

MINISTERIALETHICS •PLEASURE

PRINCIPLES •God also is the creator of SEX and the SEXUAL experience. •He desired it to operate in a SACRED COVENANT of marriage. •Two become one flesh.

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

PRINICPLES FOR MANKIND

MATTHEW 19:1-9Now it came to pass, when Jesus

had finished these sayings, that He departed from Galilee and came to

the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

PRINICPLES FOR MANKIND

MATTHEW 19:1-92 And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.

3 The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, “Is

it lawful for a man to divorce

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

PRINICPLES FOR MANKIND

MATTHEW 19:1-9his wife for just any reason?”

4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning

‘made them male

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

MATTHEW 19:1-9and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this

reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his

wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

PRINICPLES FOR MANKIND

MATTHEW 19:1-96 So then, they are no longer two

but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man

separate.”

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

PRINICPLES FOR MANKIND

MATTHEW 19:1-97 They said to Him, “Why then did

Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put

her away?” 8 He said to them, “Moses, because of the

hardness of your

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

PRINICPLES FOR MANKIND

MATTHEW 19:1-9hearts, permitted you to divorce

your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. 9 And I say to you,

whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries

MINISTERIALETHICS•PLEASURE

PRINICPLES FOR MANKIND

MATTHEW 19:1-9another, commits adultery; and

whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”

MINISTERIALETHICS •PLEASURE

PRINCIPLES There are three basic reasons men and women violate Biblical morals. •1- Harden hearts.•2- Drifting hearts willing to follow their feelings.•3- Lustful hearts loving self gradifcation more than God.

MINISTERIALETHICS •5 PLEASURE

PRINCIPLES 1-When self LOVE (PRIDE) dominates the man or woman’s heart there will be sin. NOTE: This is the HEART that is obsessed with itself. The heart that loves self first then God.

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

MATTHEW 22:37-40 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your

heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first

and great commandment.

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

MATTHEW 22:37-40 39 And the second is like it: ‘You

shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two

commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

MINISTERIALETHICS •5 PLEASURE

PRINCIPLES NOTE: You cannot properly love yourself without LOVING GOD FIRST. Our value does not come from ourselves but from God who loved us.

MINISTERIALETHICS •5 PLEASURE

PRINCIPLES 2-When PLEASURE is harmful to yourself and others around you. NOTE: This is the hardened heart that is seeking only to satisfy itself and rejects the call of God upon their life.

MINISTERIALETHICS •5 PLEASURE

PRINCIPLES NOTE: God made us for HIS PLEASURE and through Him all our REAL pleasures are realized. When our pleasure comes from God no one gets hurt.

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

Psalms 16:11You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At

Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

Psalms 35:27Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And

let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who

has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

Psalms 36:7-9How precious is Your

lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. 8 They are abundantly satisfied

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

with the fullness of Your house,And You give them drink from the

river of Your pleasures.9 For with You is the fountain of

life;In Your light we see light.

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

Psalms 111:2The works of the LORD are great,

Studied by all who have pleasure in them.

MINISTERIALETHICS •5 PLEASURE

PRINCIPLES 3-When PLEASURE SEEKING becomes obsessive there will be sin. NOTE: Pleasure at all costs will cost is the OBSESSED drifting heart that is willing to make God’s image as a pleasure giving God only.

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

Proverbs 21:17He who loves pleasure will be a

poor man; He who loves wine and oil will not be rich.

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLESEccl. 2:1-3

I said in my heart, “Come now, I will test you with mirth; therefore enjoy pleasure”; but surely, this

also was vanity. 2 I said of laughter—“Madness!”; and of mirth,

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLESEccl. 2:1-3

“What does it accomplish?” 3 I searched in my heart how to

gratify my flesh with wine, while guiding my heart with wisdom, and

how to lay hold on folly,

till I might see what was good for the sons of men to do under

heaven all the days of their lives...(Verse 17) Therefore I hated life

because the work that was done

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLESEccl. 2:1-3

under the sun was distressing to me, for all is vanity and grasping

for the wind.

MINISTERIALETHICS •5 PLEASURE

PRINCIPLES 3-When PLEASURE SEEKING becomes obsessive there will be sin. NOTE: Constantly seeking for mortal pleasure is A LOT OF HARD WORK. Are you sure you want to spend yourself on this?

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

Eccl. 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep

His commandments, for this is man’s all. 14 For God will bring

every  work into judgment, Including every

secret thing, whether good or evil.

MINISTERIALETHICS •5 PLEASURE

PRINCIPLES 4-When PLEASURE SEEKING with the wrong crowd there will be sin. NOTE: This is the heart that strays from God. This heart loves their friends more than they love the commands of Christ.

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

Prov. 1:11-19My son, if sinners entice you,

Do not consent.11 If they say, “Come with us,

Let us lie in wait to shed blood;Let us lurk secretly for the

12 Let us swallow them alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who

go down to the Pit; 13 We shall find all kinds of precious possessions,

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

Prov. 1:11-19We shall fill our houses with spoil;

14 Cast in your lot among us,Let us all have one purse”—

15 My son, do not walk in the way with them,

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

Prov. 1:11-19Keep your foot from their path;

16 For their feet run to evil,And they make haste to shed

blood.17 Surely, in vain the net is spread

In the sight of any bird;

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

Prov. 1:11-1918 But they lie in wait for their

own blood, They lurk secretly for their own lives. 19 So are the ways

of everyone who is greedy for gain;It takes away the life of its owners.

MINISTERIALETHICS

•THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLES

1 Cor. 6:13-15Now in return for the same (I speak as to children), you also be open.

14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with

has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an

unbeliever?

MINISTERIALETHICS •5 PLEASURE

PRINCIPLES 5- When the PLEASURE SEEKER is engaged seeking pleasure but the fellowship with God is broken. NOTE: This is the UNFAITHFUL and UNREPENTANT HEART.
