OBJECTIVES

Conceptual:

Having concluded reading the story Young Goodman Brown by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the students will be able to explain the most important terms and events from the story for the upcoming exam.

Procedural:

Confronted with a series of debate questions about the story, the students will demonstrate that they are able to develop appropriate answers to answer the questions with the help of their peers.

OBJECTIVES

Attitudinal:

Finished the activity of the group debate questions, the students will collaborate with their peers in clarifying doubts and recalling what was understood.

Step 1

After having read the reflection of the importance and benefits of group work, the students were assigned into groups of six to

begin the debate game.

Step 2

The rules of the debate game were discussed; each member of the groups could only volunteer twice in answering the debate.

If the answer was incorrect, the same question would be asked to a member of the following group. The group that answered

correctly received a point.

Step 3

Once the students have finished answering the debate questions the points of each group was added. The group with the most points was announced. Students collaborated with their groups in filling out a KWL chart.
