providesnewevidencethatbesideconflicts,climatevariabilityandextremesarealsoakeyforcebehindtherecentriseinglobalhunger.Theyarealsooneoftheleadingcausesofseverefoodcrises.

Themajorityofpeoplemostvulnerabletoclimateshocksandnaturalhazardsaretheworld’s2.5billionsmall-scalefarmers,herders,fishersandforest-dependentcommunities,whoderivetheirfoodandincomefromrenewablenaturalresources.

FAOClimateChangeStrategy• ClimatechangelinkswiththefullspectrumofFAO’sworkonhunger,

sustainability,poverty,agriculturalandfoodsystems,andresilienceacrossallagriculturalsectorsandnaturalresources.
