Men Jobs
• Men were merchants, smiths, and weavers.
Women Jobs
• They had to work around the village to keep the people healthy.
Land Differences
• Sparta’s land was more suitable for growing crops, while Athens land was more mountainous.
Houses
• Ancient Greek homes were usually plain and simple. They were made of mud bricks covered in plaster. Roofs were made of pottery tiles.
Athens Economy
• Their economy was based mainly on trading.
Sparta’s Economy
• Sparta’s economy was based on agriculture.
Athens’ Culture
• Athens was more interested in arts and knowledge.
Sparta’s Culture
• Sparta was more based on military.
Men’s Role
• The men would either be in the military or they would work as traders.
Women’s Roles
• The women worked on the fields or mended the wounded.
Domination
• Ancient Sparta was more powerful than Athens because they were more military based and they were more self efficient.
Wars
• Athens and Sparta were in the Peloponnesian war and the Ionian war.
