What is Anatomy?

The study of the structure of the body, what the parts look like and how they are arranged.

What is Physiology?

The study of functions, what the body parts do and how they do it.

How are a part’s function dependent on it’s form and it’s form dependent on it’s function?

How a part is anatomically designed is directly related to its job.

What is homeostasis?

It is the property of a system that regulates its internal environment and tends to maintain a stable, constant condition.

Give an example of a process or system that is controlled by homeostasis or helps control homeostasis.

Body temperature, blood pressure, blood sugar

What are 11 characteristics of life?

Movement, responsiveness, growth, reproduction, respiration, digestion, absorption, assimilation, circulation, excretion, composed of cells

Provide nine levels of organization in an organism from simplest to most complex.

Atom, molecule, macromolecule, organelle, cell, tissue, organ, organ system, organism

Know the terms of relative position
