Proposed bridge fromRadnor Gardens to Ham Lands
Talk Richmond c-‐space conversa4on (a conversa+on shared by Mark W on the Talk Richmond website)
Two members of the Richmond borough (Richard Woolf and Mark Wing) first shared the idea for Radnor Bridge at the Barefoot Consulta4on in 2010. This was followed up by similar shares during the All in One Village mee4ngs. Mark Wing then presented a white paper on the Radnor Bridge idea at Footbridge 2014 en4tled 'Genesis of a Footbridge from a community perspec4ve’ (available online).
The aim is to connect Twickenham and Ham via a cycle and pedestrian bridge located at Radnor Gardens. The benefits will be, the improved access to open land for recrea4onal purposes, the improved cycling access across the borough (thus reducing traffic), as well as the obvious socio and economic advantages found when connec4ng two communi4es.
The bridge will be located to provide the op4mum strategic link between two halves of a borough separated by water and in this way will create an obvious legacy for the enjoyment of future genera4ons.
The 4me to act is now !!
