FreddieRobertsonandSelbySpencewerePrefectstogetherin1928.TheybothenteredtheChurch,bothworkedforChurchUnityandwerebothprincipalsofsecondaryschools.FrederickHerbertRobertson(1925-1929)hadbeenDuxandHeadPrefectin1929andaprefectin1928.Gambledescribedhimas“thebestboyourschoolhasproduced.”HebecameaPresbyterianMinister.AsayoungmanheledtheChristianOrderCampaign,anationalmovementofallnon-CatholicChurches.HewasoneoftheChurchesrepresentativesontheNationalCouncilofChurchesandConvenoroftheGeneralAssembly’sBoardofEducation.Hefoundedachildren’shomeandtwooldpeoples’homesandhewastheFounderandfirstRectorofLindisfarneCollege,Hastings.

TheHomesteadbuilding LindisfarneCollegeSelbyNormanSpence(1927-1928)wasalsoaPrefectandtheHeadHousePrefect.HebecameanAnglicanpriestandwasPrincipaloftheCMSHighSchoolinKarachi.[TheschoolwasnationalisedbythePakistaniGovernmentin1971.]HelefttheschoolafterPartitionandbecameArchdeaconofSindhandBalochistanandlaterCanonofLahoreCathedral.(TheCathedralChurchoftheResurrectionpicturedbelow). HeworkedtouniteMethodist;Episcopal,Lutheran,AnglicanChurchesandtheChurchofScotlandintooneChristianentityinnorthernIndia.Onhis59thbirthdayhewasconsecratedBishopofKarachiinStPaul’sCathedral,Calcutta(Kolkato)

StPaul’sCathedral HolyTrinityCathedral Kolkato KarachiHereturnedtoNewZealandin1972andwasappointedAssistantBishopofWaikatoandthenofAuckland.HewasmadeaFellowofStJohn’sCollegein1973.NotonlydidthesetwoPrefectssitsidebysideinthe1928Prefectsphotograph;theirnamesaretogetherinthegold-letteredlistintheHall.
