FlyCool™ is an ultra-light-weight, all-electric, vapor cycle air conditioning system developed by Air Management Technology, Inc. (www.amt-aero.com) for the expanding LSA and Experimental market.

The R-134a vapor cycle system includes a maintenance-free, hermetically-sealed, brushless dc motor/compressor assembly, circuit protected relay junction box, light-weight condenser/fan assembly and a compact evaporator/fan unit. The components are modular to accommodate installation into small envelopes.

The 28 VDC system can run from a 70 amp alternator or a GPU. This power system is an independent upgrade from the standard 12 VDC aircraft system. When ground pre-cooling, the system provides a 20°F cabin temperature drop in under 10 minutes.

The evaporator fan speed is fully adjustable. AC mode provides cooling, while FAN mode can be used to re-circulate air on cooler days. Each component is protected by a circuit breaker. The evaporator is protected by a freeze switch. The refrigerant plumbing is protected by a hi-lo pressure switch which de-energizes the compressor.
