- 1. How the World Works Inquiry
- 2. Question How have computers evolved over time and how have
they impacted on the natural world?
- 3. All decision, research and organizing processes are all in
my learning journal on Knet Also, Ill be clicking like last time,
but less.
- 4. Part 1-The evolution of the computer ( 1980- Present)
computer ( 1980- Present) Im not going to go further into the past
for 2 reasons- 1) This awesome slideshow will take too long to
present 2) There was pretty much nothing too interesting before
1980 The following slides not only have the history of computers,
but also software. Actual computers are very complicated, because
its mostly the evolution of microprocessors. Because of that, I
excluded all of the very-hard-to-understand things, like
microprocessors. Im also going to miss some years since nothing
happened that year and people will get bored. I will probably only
do 1 or 2 facts per year to make sure you guys dont fall asleep.
These facts will be arranged in order from past to present.

- 2009/2010/2011- Too much new things!!
- 11. Part 2- Impacts on the Natural World Im not going to
include EVERYTHING, since I dont have much time left, but these are
the main impacts, good and bad.
- The installation of fibre optic cables ( for high speed
internet) requires you to dig holes underground, resulting in the
destruction of seeds and/or roots, natural underground habitats,
etc.
- Computers and their components take lots of resources to make.
Important and limited resources.
- Its obvious that computers are made by machines in factories.
This results, inevitably, in global warming from the smoke that the
factories produce.
- Charging computers takes lots of electricity, therefore
resulting in Global Warming.
- Now for the good stuff- not natural impacts, but sort of. You
guys can figure out yourself.
- Computers help in many different professions, like medical,
science, biology, maths, just to name a few.
- Computers now have artificial intelligence, making them useful
in advanced robots.
- Mankind would be nowhere without computers, as they can do
pretty much everything required in order for humans to advance into
a new generation of technology.
