Alcoguard series has been developed as a special film forming agentdesigned specifically for aid of ironing outperforming conventional starch-
base film former.
Whats Easy and Neat?

Alcoguard can deliver :
1. Clarity of finished goods
2. Minimum whitening flake on dark color cloth
3. Stain removal assistance
4. Wrinkle resistance
5. Easy to formulate without special equipment6. Minimum time and energy to produce

Remark : It is essential to strictly follow all additives recommended to avoid
incompatibility issue in final formulation due to anionic charge of Alcoguard . Level of
stiffness could be adjusted to preference by varying polymer dose rate.

Clarity of Finished Product

Low Whitening Flake on Dark Color Cloth
Figure-2 : Whitening Flake after iron ing,
left (ALG) right (starch)
The whitening flake usually
happens right after ironing
by using speed starch
formula. It can be demonstrated to
minimize this feature with
the prototype ALG formula.

Stain Removal AssistanceTest Procedure :1. Apply Prototype ALG or a speed starch
on cotton cloth. (~100 cm2) at
coating weight 5 g then do ironing at
max. temperature til l dry.
Note : The control sample is also
prepared by not applying any.
2. Apply Mustard, Chi li sauce, Ketchup,
Sour sauce, Mixed fru it juices and
Coffee at coating weight 1 g/ circle 2
inches.
3. Dry the cloths in oven 50 C for 1 hr.
4. One set of specimen is to be washedby Electro lux, Aquashower 500, 2 hrs
with detergent (Attack Colortec)
and another set is to be washed
without any detergent.
It appear the Prototype ALG is likely
higher performance as stain removalassistance

Wrinkle Resistance
Figure-6 In Example 1 (Sample A) a white cotton (100%) shirt waswashed at a commercial dry-cleaner and starched to a medium sti ffness.
A similar shi rt (Sample B) was treated with AlcoGuard (5% spray
concentration) and ironed to reach the same stiffness level.
As the pictures indicate,
the shirt treated with Alco-
Guard has superior
wr inkle resistance/recovery
over conventional ironing
aids

Ease of Ironing and Slippery Test
Figure-7 : A Simulation of Ironing Slippery Test
IRONING SLIPPERY TEST PROCEDURE :
1. Prepare new cloths on a wooden support where is sloped 20o and 60 cm. in length.
2. Keep cleaning surface of the iron and maintain temperature as maximum scale.
3. Spray the sample 15 times homogenously on the cloth.
4. Release the iron from the top end and measure a using time when the iron reach the
down end. Each sample are to be test 10 times X 4 sets then to find an average result.
5. The less time used is considered to be higher ironing slippery.
