Your Guide to completing theApplyTexas Application

1. There are several types of dual credit programs offered through Alamo Colleges. Seekguidance from high school dual credit liaison to ensure you select the right program.

2. Email address

3. Social Security Numbera. While it is not required, indicating it on your application will assist you later when you

need to log into your ACES account

4. Full legal namea. In order to avoid delays in your TSI Assessment evaluation, the name you enter on

ApplyTexas should be the same for TSI Assessment

5. If you live in Texas, know your county

6. The residency section must be completed per your parents’/legal guardians’ residency

status. Please seek assistance from your parents/legal guardians.a. If your parents have Permanent Resident Alien Number or are on a Visa, make sure you

know the Visa type or Permanent Resident Alien Number.

Select your Semester of EntryNote: If you apply for one semester and do not enroll, then you will need to

submit a NEW application for the semester when you will enroll.

year you plan to begin.

“Educational background” section:

Utilize the “Find your High School” button to select your high school

If your high school does not appear, select “School Not Found”

1. Be sure to include your graduation date.

2. Consider your grad level as of Fall 2016.

a. If you will be a sophomore, enter 06/2019

b. If you will be a junior, enter 06/2018

c. If you will be a senior, enter 06/2017

Add all colleges previously or currently attending (including Dual Credit)

• Most students will not have any

previous college work, so scroll

to the bottom and click continue.

• If you have attended dual credit

classes before, include all

colleges attended for dual credit.

• If the last college attended is not

one of the Alamo Colleges, be

sure to submit an official

transcript in order for the courses

to be considered for pre- requisite

waivers.

Submit Official Transcripts To:

College transcripts with dual credit earned from a college/university outside of

the Alamo Colleges are required if you want the credit considered for pre-

requisite completion.

Have your previous institution(s) send official transcripts and test scores to the

Alamo College you will receive dual credit services:

“Residency Information” section

The information provided in this section may delay your admission consideration for the dual

credit program selected, if any of the information provided codes you as an out-of-state or

foreign student in our system. Since you are a minor, your residency is based off of your

parents’/legal guardians’ residency status. Read each question carefully and seek your

parents/legal guardians assistance before answering the questions.

Your high school counselor or high

school dual credit liaison will be informed

if you are coded as an out-of-state or

foreign student. Please be prepared to

provide documentation to correct your

residency status.

If you answer YES to question 1,

please move on to question 5 through

10.

DO NOT answer 2-4.

If you answer NO to question 1, please

answer questions 2 through 10.

NOTE: Please have your parents/legal

guardians assist you with the answers.

you will be required to submit a

Military Verification Form.

Please request this form, from

your high school counselor or

high school dual credit liaison.

Answer YES if your parents own

house/property in Texas.

Question 9a:

Answer YES if your parents work in

Texas and receive a paycheck from

their employer.

“Custom Questions” section –

Select "No" to all custom questions – there are more than

one question

All Dual Credit students,

regardless of the Alamo College

and dual credit program selected,

must answer NO to all of the

custom questions.
