Goods & Services Tax (GST) Relief on
Imported Goods
A 7% GST is levied on all goods imported intoSingapore. Visitors, tourists, returning citizens orpermanent residents of Singapore will be granted
GST relief on new articles, souvenirs, gifts and foodpreparations (excluding intoxicating liquors andtobacco). Depending on the number of hours spentoutside of Singapore immediately before arrival, GSTrelief is granted up to the following values illustrated
in the table below:

How to Enjoy Tax Free Shopping
in Singapore
As a tourist or visitor, you can enjoy tax refundson goods purchased under the Electronic TouristRefund Scheme (eTRS). Heres how you do it:
When Shopping: Shop at stores displaying theTax Free Shopping, Premier Tax Free orTax Refund logos. Spend a minimum of $100at any one shop and obtain the original invoice/receipt and eTRS ticket from the store.
For check-in items:Prior to checking-in the goods,please proceed to the eTRS self-help kiosk at theDeparture Check-in Hall (Public Area) to apply forGST refund.
For hand-carry items:Please proceed to the eTRSself-help kiosk at the Departure Transit Loungeto apply for GST refund.
You may be required to present the goods at theCustoms Inspection counter. Please be ready withyour purchased goods, original invoices/ receipts,boarding pass/ confirmed air ticket and eTRS tickets.
Upon obtaining approval for the claim of GST
Refund: If you have opted for cash refund, pleaseproceed to Central Refund Counter (at GST Refund -Departure Transit Lounge )* for collection of cash.
*Please refer to the terminal maps (page 18, 21 or 25) for the counter locations.
You are required to seek endorsement at the Customs Inspection
Counter in the terminal where you will be checking in your
goods or where your flight will be departing from. You must also
depart with the goods on a flight within 12 hours after obtaining
approval of your GST refund.

Customs
If you do not have any controlled, prohibited orrestricted items, or taxable/dutiable items exceedingyour GST relief/duty-free concession, proceed to
the Green Channel. If in doubt, go through theRed Channel.
Customs Tax
Payment Kiosk
On arrival, you can make a self-declaration on yourtaxable items, duty and GST payment through
the Customs Tax Payment Kiosk. Simply key in therelevant information and the taxes due will becalculated. Please retain the receipt issued by thekiosk for checks when you exit the Arrival BaggageClaim Hall.

The re-sealable plastic bag must becompletely closed.
One re-sealable plastic bag allowed per person.The re-sealable bag must be presentedseparately at the security screening point.
Exemptions will be made for medication, babyfood and special dietary items.
Liquor or other liquids, aerosols and gel products(more than 100ml) bought from overseas airportshave to be sealed in tamper-evident bags.

Butterfly Garden
The worlds first Butterfly Garden in an airport is designed as a tropical butterfly habitat with a profusionof flowering plants, lush greenery and a 6-metre grotto waterfall. See various butterfly species during thedifferent seasons of the year.
Visit the educational corners within the garden to gain a deeper understanding on butterflies. Individual
enclosures enable you to witness the breeding and feeding of butterflies at close range. Be amazed by thetransformation of a butterfly from pupae till before they take their first flight at the Emergence Enclosure!
The garden is also home to a collection of 200 carnivorous or insectivorous plants from about 30 species ofNepenthes - tropical pitcher plants from Southeast Asia, including Singapore. These plants have adapted
to growing in nutrient-poor soils by evolving ways of trapping and feeding on insects and small animals toobtain nutrients.
