Elginia McCrary is a native of Chesapeake, Virginia and the third of four girls. Her father died when she was fourteen; however, her mother strongly supported her love and desire to become an artist. She attended California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA where she received her BFA Degree. She later received her masters at Norfolk State University. 

Elginia has been a technical illustrator, a freelance artist, a draftsman, and an art teacher. During these different avenues, she always continued to create her own works of art, which have been displayed in areas of Maryland, Chicago, New York and many areas in the United States. 

Elginia's elongated stylized images are painted with striking colors that stir the emotion and feelings of on lookers. Most of her paintings consist of oils on canvas.
