1,2.3rd Angels

Message

Revelation 14:6-12

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and

his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture

into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the

presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Revelation 14:9,10

Content of the third angels

Message (final warning

The sins of Babylon will be laid open.

The fearful results of enforcing the observances of the church by civil authority,

the inroads of spiritualism,

the stealthy but rapid progress of the papal power--all will be unmasked.

By these solemn warnings the people will be stirred.

Great Controversy 606 par 2

Stages of Natural crisis

Great Controversy, p. 589

Natural disaster a Catalyst

Satan works through the elementsalso to garner his harvest of unprepared souls.

He has studied the secrets of the laboratories of nature, and he uses all his power to control the elements as far as God allows.

he will bring disease and disaster, until populous cities are reduced to ruin and desolation.

Great Controversy p589

The miracle-working power manifested through spiritualism will exert its influence against those who choose to obey God rather than men.

Communications from the spirits will declare that God has sent them to convince the rejecters of Sunday of their error,

affirming that the laws of the land should be obeyed as the law of God.

Natural Disaster + Spiritualism

“God's Word has given warning of the impending danger; let this be unheeded, and the Protestant world will learn what the purposes of Rome really are, only when it is too late to escape the snare. She is silently growing into power. Her doctrines are exerting their influence in legislative halls, in the churches, and in the hearts of men. She is piling up her lofty and massive structures, in the secret recesses of which her former persecutions will be repeated.

Great Controversy p, 581.1

'"There will not be any dissociation between the Universal Church, the Sacred Lodge of all true Masons and the Inner circles of the esoteric societies ..• In this way, the goals and work of the United Nations shall be solidified and a new Church of God, led by all the religions and by all of the spiritual groups, shall put an end to the great heresy of separateness.' 1,.

“To achieve world government, it is necessary to remove from the minds of men their individualism, loyalty to family traditions, national patriotism, and religious dogmas”

Tal Brooke, quoting Brock Chisolm, a former Director of the U.N. World Health Organisation, in

SCP Journal, Summer 1991

“Spiritualism is about to take the world captive.”

Evangelism 602

“Satan has long been preparing for his final effort to deceive the world. The foundation of his work was laid by the assurance given to Eve in Eden: “Ye shall not surely die.” “In the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4, 5. Little by little he has prepared the way for his masterpiece of deception in the development of spiritualism.”

Great Controversy 561

Through the two great errors, the immortality of the soul and Sunday sacredness, Satan will bring the people under his deceptions.

While the former lays the foundation of spiritualism, the latter creates a bond of sympathy with Rome.

The Protestants of the United States will be foremost in stretching their hands across the gulf to grasp the hand of spiritualism;

they will reach over the abyss to clasp hands with the Roman power; and under the influence of this threefold union, this country will follow in the steps of Rome in trampling on the rights of conscience.

Great Controversy page 588 par 1

I was directed to this scripture as especially applying to modern spiritualism: Colossians 2:8: “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”...

Mind Character & Personality vol 2 page 723 par 2

“Vain deceit” fills the minds of poor mortals. They think there is such power in themselves to accomplish great works that they realize no necessity of a higher power. Their principles and faith are “after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

Mind Character & Personality vol 2 page 723 par 3

.... The throne is within you.” Said a Spiritualistic teacher, as the “spiritual consciousness” awoke within him, “My fellowmen, all were unfallen demigods.” And another declares, “Any just and perfect being is Christ.”

Mind Character & Personality vol 2 page 722 par 3

Spiritualism teaches “that man is the creature of progression; that it is his destiny from his birth to progress, even to eternity, toward the Godhead.”

Spiritualism teaches “that man is the creature of progression; that it is his destiny from his birth to progress, even to eternity, toward the Godhead.”

Spiritualism is Evolution

The term "New Age" is an informal term derived from astrology, which indicates that this earth, if not the cosmos, is on the verge of an evolutionary transition from the Picean Age (rationality) to the Aquarian Age of spirituality, bliss, and harmony of all things. Even though it is undergoing a significant revival, the "New Age" is hardly new. In fact, it is very old.

From homo-serpien to homo-noeticus to homo-christos (cosmic christ)

The doctrine

Aleister Crowley

The most central and commonly shared beliefs among New Agers are various combinations of Pantheism, gnosticismand occultism.

Encyclopedia Brittanica, Vol. 10, 1968, p. 506; J.D. Douglas, ed., New Bible Dictionary, pp. 473-4

Pantheism means that everything that exists is GOD, Man is God, a grain of sand is God.

Again and again we shall be called to meet the influence of men who are studying sciences of satanic origin, through which Satan is working to make a nonentity of God and of Christ…….. The book, Living Temple, is an illustration of this work,

Testimonies, Vol. 9, pp. 67-68

In the book Living Temple there is presented the alpha of deadly heresies. The omega will follow, and will be received by those who are not willing to heed the warning God has given. {1Selected Messages 200.1}

Gnosticism is an ancient world-view stating that Divine essence is the only true or highest reality,

and that the unconscious Self of man is actually this essence. It is throughintuitional experience, "visionary experience or initiation into secret doctrine", that man becomes conscious of this true Self

Encyclopedia Brittanica, Vol. 10, 1968, p. 506; J.D. Douglas, ed., New Bible Dictionary, pp. 473-4

Occultism is a "general designation for various theories, practices, and rituals based on esoteric knowledge, especially alleged knowledge about the world of spirits and unknown forces of the universe"

Encyclopedia Brittanica, Vol. 10, 1968, p. 506; J.D. Douglas, ed., New Bible Dictionary, pp. 473-4

More than teaching

Aleister Crowley

Even though many New Age adherents describe "God" in personal terms, ultimately, "God" is an impersonal life force, consciousness or energy

…..pantheistic,

which means that everything that exists is of “One essence”, and that “One essence” is God.

M. Ferguson, Aquarian Conspiracy, p. 382;

Jesus was a man who evolvedspiritually to the state of "the Christ being”. "The Christ" is an actual state of “ultimate essence”. Everyone's true being is "the Christ:" and each person's goal is to come to that self-realization

A Course in Miracles, Vol. 3, pp. 83-4

Since man is intrinsically divine and perfect, his only real problem is ignorance of that fact. Man has a perception of finiteness, which is in reality an illusion

New Age groups offer various occultictechniques to enable individuals, and ultimately the world, to evolve into this oneness (unitive) consciousness (James Redfield, The Celestine Prophecy: An Experimental Guide, pp. 243-60).

These techniques may include altered states of consciousness (often transcendental meditation), yoga, crystals, channeling (spirit guides), psychics, past life therapy, acupuncture, etc.

Ken Keyes, Jr., Handbook to Higher Consciousness, pp. 125-29

(of the “Purpose-Driven” fame). Through their influence, these Evangelical thought leaders have introduced many Protestants to mystical meditation practices, such as “contemplative meditation”

or “contemplative prayer.”

These practices are often disguised as new forms of prayer.

The movement

Oprah Winfrey

spoke for many who have embraced the New Age spirituality, when she endorsed Butterworth’s book in the following words on the front cover of the paperback edition (1992)

“This book changed my perspective on life and religion. Eric Butterworth teaches that God isn’t ‘up there.’ He exists inside each one of us, and it’s up to us to seek the divine within.”

New Age Beliefs that Shape the Church today

This one is probably the most popular. This is the belief that if we think positively and have faith, we will get whatever we desire from God.

The Law of Attraction is based on the idea that “like attracts like.” Teachers of the Law of Attraction will often tell you to believe, imagine, or visualize what you want from God and He will make it true for you.

1 John 2:15) its all about the will of God

1.Law of Attraction

The next New Age belief that has bled into the church is the belief that we should follow our feelings

and that our emotions are indicators of truth and guidance. People are often told to do what feels right. It sounds good initially but scripture reminds us that trusting in our own minds is foolish. (Proverbs 28:26)

2. Follow your heart

This belief was popularized by false teachers like Kenneth Copeland, Joel Osteen, and Oprah among others.

The idea is that because we are children of God, we are also mini gods and can obtain anything we please because we are also divine in nature. We see this in the church when individuals focus on serving self and their desire for money, fame, and material wealth.

3. We are little or mini gods

Next, oneness is the idea that we can become righteous or one with God by being sinless. All essence is one

3. Oneness

Finally, this is the teaching that one can believe in Jesus and practice other faiths. They believe that there are many spiritual or religious paths to God and heaven.

5. All roads lead to heaven

What is the Ultimate Goal?

In the new age, the belief is that everyone is going to heaven.

New agers also believe that you go to heaven by “being a good person.“ That is a salvation-by-works belief, which is unbiblical.

1.Not preaching the Gospel

• adding to the Bible with “special revelation” that contradicts Scripture

•The new age says that the Bible is tampered with

•Yoga: each pose is bowing to a specific pagan deity

2. Downplaying or doubting the Bible

•The teaching that Jesus was just a human (Arianism heresy), and not God;

• and the teaching that Jesus emptied his divinity during his earthly ministry (Kenosis heresy). Pure blasphemy, with new age and occult roots.

3.Kenosis and Arianism Heresies

•The teaching that Jesus was just a human (Arianism heresy), and not God;

• and the teaching that Jesus emptied his divinity during his earthly ministry (Kenosis heresy). Pure blasphemy, with new age and occult roots.

“[2] There is one God: Father, Son, and Holy

Spirit, a unity of three co-eternal persons. God

is immortal, all-powerful, all-knowing, above all, and ever present. He is infinite and beyond human comprehension,

yet known through His self-revelation.

He is forever worthy of worship, adoration, and ser- vice by the whole creation.

“The Godhead was stirred with pity for the race, and the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit gave Themselves to the working out of the plan of redemption.”

Counsels on Health, 222.

Seventh Day Adventist

The Lord Jesus Christ, the divine Son of God, existed from eternity, a distinct person, yet one with the Father. He was the surpassing glory of heaven. He was the commander of the heavenly intelligences, and the adoring homage of the angels was received by him as his right. This was no robbery of God

The Review and Herald, April 5, 1906, p. 8.

Sin could be resisted and overcome only through the mighty agency of the Third Person of the Godhead, who would come with no modified energy, but in the fullness of divine power. It is the Spirit that makes effectual what has been wrought out by the world's Redeemer.

The father begets the Son, and the Son proceeds from the Father. The Father and Son breathe forth the Holy Ghost, and He proceeds from Them, as from one Source.”

“God the Father eternally knows Himself, and continues to know Himself [copula; that is, copulates with Himself], and continues to know Himself, and thus continues to bring forth The Son in a continual birth. God the Father and God the Son continue to love each other, and their delight in each other continues to bring forth the Spirit of Love, God the Holy Ghost.

“He [the Holy Spirit] proceeds, not by way of generation, but by way of spiration, from the Father and the Son together, as from a single principle. Such is the belief the Catholic faith demands.”

The Roman Church

Some people do not want to believe that Christ is fully God. The Witnesses say He is “a god”; but they really do not believe He is any kind of God.

“Jehovah’s Witnesses . . believe that the son is merely ‘a god’ by way of concession.”

"Alice Balley, Foundress of the Luclfer Trust. Predicted In 1919 the appearance of 'a Universal Church' of

which 'the definitive outline will appear toward the end of the century' …

The days in which we live are solemn and important.

The Spirit of God is gradually but surely being withdrawn from the earth. Plagues and judgments are already falling upon the despisers of the grace of God. The calamities by land and sea, the unsettled state of society, the alarms of war, are portentous.

• They forecast approaching events of the greatest magnitude. The agencies of evil are combining their forces, and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis.

Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones

Testimonies, vol. 9, p. 11.

"These have one mind." There will be a universal bond of union, one great harmony, a confederacy of Satan's forces.

"And shall give their power and strength unto the beast." Thus is manifested the same arbitrary, oppressive power against religious liberty, freedom to worship God according to the dictates of conscience,

as was manifested by the papacy, when in the past it persecuted those who dared to refuse to conform with the religious rites and ceremonies of Romanists…

“We will build this New World Order,

not by an end run, but we will build it piece by piece under their noses [the American people].

The house of the New World Order will have to be built from the bottom up, rather than from the top down. . . . An end run around sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece,

will accomplish much more than the old fashioned frontal attack.
