Proposal No. 601186-111028 Question from L & L Painting Co., Inc. Dated 6/12/2020 @ 8:09 PM Question 37.) Can the DOT please expand on the extent of Cleaning and Painting of Steel for Item
No. 961.201. Is it safe for the Contractor to assume that all Steel below the existing Roadway Deck gets Cleaned and Painted. And that all Steel above the Roadway Deck does not require Cleaning and Painting other than Localized Steel Repair Areas.
Response 37.) All steel below the bridge deck shall be cleaned and painted, up to the top of the
lower chord gusset plates. All structural steel below that point shall be cleaned and painted; steel above that point only requires cleaning and painting if associated with a localized repair.
Question from Atlantic Bridge & Engineering Dated 6/15/2020 @ 9:05 AM Question 38.) The Addendum 3 Response to Question 31 indicated that the estimated quantity of open
holes to be filled with a bolt was estimated at approximately (300). Can you please confirm that this estimated quantity includes the (128) open holes in the existing Floor Beam Top Flanges after the removal of the existing Sidewalk Stringers (Ref. Q&A 36)?
