Hazardous Materials in Libraries

Hazardous materials or hazardous job duties are very minimal in a library setting, but they do exist!

• Look on the container of the substance.

• If a chemical is hazardous, the label will tell you so.

• Low toxicity, if possible

• Cleaning solvents, craft glue, toner

• Chemical listed updated• Posted on Insite

What are some chemicals which you encounter at work?

Look at the warning label on the container. Should you take any precautionary measures when using it?

Think of one way you will change the way you handle this chemical.
