residence will exceed your
expectations. You can rest easy
when your son/daughter stays
at Trent for the Forensic
Science Camp. As the newest
residence building on campus
the rooms are well maintained,
clean, comfortable, and air
conditioned.
Campers and Camp Counsellors are
housed in single rooms, with a full
closet, nightstand, desk and
double bed…AND a single
adjoining bathroom
complete with shower for
every 2 people! Bed linens,
pillows, and towels are
provided by Conference
Services for all overnight
guests.
Free wifi is available to
all campers!

The Forensic Science Camp will introduce you to
the fascinating world of Forensic Science. Learn
what it really takes to process a crime scene,
analyze evidence, use DNA technology, and
forensic techniques to solve crimes…plus
experience campus life at a University.
Campers will gain firsthand experience with
forensic practices.
• Identify & package evidence at a crime scene
• Use DNA technology to solve a crime
• Participate in a mock trial using evidence
you have collected and analyzed
Professional Visits Throughout the week, campers will be able to
interact with various members of the community
currently working in the field of Forensic Science.
This not only benefits our campers with first
hand experience but gives them insight into
possible post-secondary education and
future career opportunities. Some
professionals include:
• Peterborough Police Forensic
Identification Unit
• Expert in bloodstain pattern analysis
• Members of the OPP
• MNR enforcement branch
• Lawyers
• Researchers currently involved in
Entomology and Wildlife DNA Forensics.
Evenings Students will spend their evenings on local
excursions to the Peterborough Zoo, enjoying
campfires, attending a formal dinner,
participating in various recreational activities
and much more!

Registration Information

Day $330 Day and evening activities
Registration The cost of the Residential Camp is $830.00 per student,
including all taxes. This price includes: accommodations, all
meals while on campus, educational activities, field trips and
entertainment, and 24 hr supervision by camp counsellors.
There is also a day camp available for $330.00 per student.
Students in this camp will not be staying overnight, but will
attend camp Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. They will
partake in scheduled activities and are welcome to attend
evening activities. Campers enrolled in the day camp will be
responsible for their own lunch (and/or dinner if staying for evening
activities) every day. However, on-site meals and meal tickets are
available for purchase.

Day campers are welcome to bring their own meals to
camp, return home for meals, or purchase meals.
Breakfasts and Lunches can be purchased onsite during
camp from the campus cafeteria. Campers choosing to
attend dinners, must purchase dinner tickets at the time of
registration. Dinner tickets cost $22 + 13% HST = $24.86.

Bursaries A limited number of bursaries will be available based on
financial need/academic excellence. If you are interested in
applying for a bursary, please write a short letter (max. 250
words) in the ONLINE application on the “Sign-Up” page of
our website detailing your interest in the camp and your
reason for applying for the bursary. The application
deadline for bursaries is June 1st. Kindly note, all remaining
fees are to be paid by no later than June 12th at 4 pm (EST)
in order to attend camp.
Payment Schedule A 50% deposit must be provided at the time of registration.
Cancellations prior to June 12th will be entitled to a full
refund less a $35.00 administration fee. After June 12th, no
refunds will be provided. The final 50% must be received by
June 12th at 4 pm (EST). Camper packages will be sent out
by June 26th.
