How to Avoid Plagiarism Lessons Learned

Some comments:

• Cheating hurts everyone around you

• Plagiarism is no different than stealing

• I wish this workshop is presented to freshmen students

Some comments:

• Cheating is not a part of friendship

• “Fix before it is broken!” I’m a senior & had never heard about a LOT of this stuff until today

Some lessons learned:

• Need an overall coordinator – arrange room, lunches, contact presenters, keep records, compile statistics

• Member of AI Council or AI Committee should be present to serve as link between sessions and answer questions

• Assessment is a must

Some lessons learned:

• At least one workshop per semester

• Each workshop needs separate budget

• Letter to students must fully explain purpose of workshop
