Unemployment rate is one of the major issues among Malaysian citizens. Theunemployment rate indicates the percentage of the total workforce who are activelyseekingemploymentandcurrentlyunemployed.Inthispaper,adataofunemploymentrateofastateinMalaysiafromyear2000until2015iscollected.ThestatisticsdataisextractedbyLabourForceSurveyMalaysia(LFSM)whichwasconductedmonthlybyusinghouseholdapproachtargetedtoworkingagesbetween15to64yearsold.Anestimationdataforyear2016 can be forecasted by using discrete least squaremethod of numerical analysis andconjugate gradient method in unconstrained optimization. These methods have beenchosen based on its simplicity and accuracy. The calculations are based on linear andquadraticmodelsforeachthemethodtogetherwiththeirerrors.Resultsshowedthattheconjugategradientmethodiscomparablewiththeleastsquaremethod.Keywords:UnconstrainedOptimization,Workforce,LeastSquareMethod,ConjugateGradientMethod.

Rational speculative bubble size happens when the prices of an asset exceed itsfundamental value. This bubbles are harmful when burst because its gives a big impacttowards the economic. In general, the concept of ergo-aesthetic discloses the equilibrium of human behaviouralcharacterwithform, shape, andsymbolisminsideadesignedproduct.Infact, thisharmonysynthesis can be achieved throughout responses of behaviour and senses inside a designprocess.Throughtheadaptationofergo-aesthetic,humanswillbeabletoachievegreatersatisfaction with the designed product as they will positively interact and respondproportionally to it. In this context, ergo-aesthetic principles will replace the traditionalmethod of evaluating and adapting ergonomic and aesthetic into the design process toachieve a better output product. K-Means is a clustering technique that maps object features onto multidimensionalcoordinates and groups them based on location closeness. However, measuring closestdistance can be doubtful when ranking representation of ordinal scale objects are notconsidered.Thus,distributionofobjectsinaclustermayviolaterankingrepresentation.Forexample, a same-rank objectmay be grouped into different clusters. Although there aremanyresearchesonk-meanstowardsbetterresultconsideringinitialcentroidsandfeatureweighting, there is lacking investigation inprocessing these factors towardsbetter rankedcluster. To address this issue, an enhanced of K-Means algorithm called guided rank K-Means (G+RankK-Means) isproposed toachievebetterandmeaningful resultof ranking-based clustering. In thispaper, anautomated system for grading the severity levelofDiabeticRetinopathy(DR) disease based on fundus images is presented. Features are extracted using fastdiscrete curvelet transform. These features are applied to hierarchical support vectormachine (SVM) classifier to obtain four types of grading levels, namely, normal, mild, moderate and severe. These grading levels are determined based on the number ofanomalies suchasmicroaneurysms, hardexudates andhaemorrhages that arepresent inthe fundus image. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated using fundusimagesfromtheMessidordatabase.Experimentresultsshowthattheproposedsystemcanachieveanaccuracyrateof86.23%.

As computers and smartphones become more pervasive in society, there have been agrowing interest in the development for bridging the human-computer barrier. With theemergenceofVirtualReality(VR),user’ssensesaretakenintoconsiderationinachievinganatural and intuitive human-computer interaction (HCI) aswell for amore effective datainteraction.TheconventionalkeyboardandmouseinterfaceandcontrolmethodsofVRnolonger sufficiently handles the richness of the information and facilitate intuitive userinteraction in the virtual environment. There are alternative controllers such as motioncontroller used in the game but this burden users for having them to hold a controllerduring gameplay. Hand gestures are a powerful tool for communication among humans. Thus, hand gestures recognition has the potential to achieve the naturalness andintuitiveness for HCI. Data mining is the process of extracting essential data from large data sets to identifypatterns and establish relationships in order to solve problems through data analysis.Medical data is of abundance, yet information is extremely poor. Due to that effectiveanalysis tools are needed for retrieving hidden relationships from the data. This paperanalyses the performance of classification models using two medical datasets which areBreast Cancer Wisconsin and Hepatitis data sets. This paper presents a comparison ofdifferent classifiers based on a 10-fold cross validation using a data mining tool. In thisexperiment, variousclassifiersareimplementedincludingthreepopularensemblemethodswhichareboosting, bagging, andstackingforthecombination.TheresultshowsthatfortheclassificationoftheBreastCancerWisconsindataset, thesingleclassificationofNaïveBayes(NB) and a combination of bagging+NB algorithm displayed the highest accuracy at thesamepercentage(97.51%)comparedtoothercombinationsofensembleclassifiers.Fortheclassification of the Hepatitis data set, the result showed that the combination ofstacking+Multi-LayerPerception(MLP)algorithmachievedahigheraccuracyat86.25%.Byusing the ensemble classifiers, the result may be improved. DNAmicroarraytechnologyisacurrentinnovativetoolthathasoffersanewperspectivetolook sight into cellular systems and measure a large scale of gene expressions at once.Regardless the novel invention of DNA microarray, most of its results relies on thecomputational intelligencepower, which isusedto interpretthe largenumberofdata.Atpresent,interpretinglargescaleofgeneexpressiondataremainathought-provokingissuedue to their innatenatureof “highdimensional lowsample size”.Microarraydatamainlyinvolvedthousandsofgenes,ninaverysmallsizesample,p.Inaddition,thisdataareoftenoverwhelmed, over fitting and confused by the complexity of data analysis. Due to thenatureofthismicroarraydata, itisalsocommonthatalargenumberofgenesmaynotbeinformativeforclassificationpurposes.Forsuchareason, manystudieshaveusedfeatureselection methods to select significant genes that present the maximum discriminativepower between cancerous and normal tissues. In this study, we aim to investigate andcompare the effectiveness of these four popular filter gene selection methods namelySignal-to-Noise ratio (SNR), Fisher Criterion (FC), Information Gain (IG) and t-Test inselecting informative genes that candistinguish cancer andnormal tissues. Two commonclassifiers, Support VectorMachine (SVM) andDecision Tree (C4.5) are used to train theselected genes. These gene selection methods are tested on three large scales of geneexpression datasets, namely breast cancer dataset, colon dataset, and lung dataset. ThisstudyhasdiscoveredthatIGandSNRaremoresuitabletobeusedwithSVMwhileIGfitforC4.5.Inacolondataset,SVMhasachievedaspecificityof86%withSNRwhileand80%forIG.Incontract,C4.5hasobtainedaspecificityof78%forIGontheidenticaldataset.TheseresultsindicatethatSVMperformedslightlybetterwithIGpre-processeddatacomparetoC4.5onthesamedataset.
