The CGEIT Certification
CGEIT is an elite certification administered by ISACA. It stands for “Certified in the Governance of Enterprise Information Technology.” Professionals with this credential often report directly to the board of large organizations.
CGEIT: Five domains of expertise
1. Strategic alignment: Ensuring the link between business and IT plans;
2. Value delivery: Ensuring that IT delivers the promised benefits against the strategy
3. Risk management: Ensuring risk awareness, a clear understanding of the enterprise’s appetite for risk, and transparency about the significant risks to the enterprise
4. Resource management: Optimizing the investment, use and allocation of IT resources
5. Performance measurement: Tracking project delivery and monitoring IT services to translate strategy into action
Earning a CGEIT certification
The creation of the CGEIT certification reflects the growing importance of IT governance in large organizations. To earn the CGEIT certification, one must: • Meet the minimum qualifications to sit for the exam
• Pass the CGEIT exam
• Adhere to the ISACA Code of Professional Ethics
• Agree to comply with the CGEIT continuing education policy
