Managing Business Competitivenessthrough Technology, Innovation and Big Data
Business, Governments and organizations have to be 'competitive' to survive and grow. Healthy
competition brings out the best among organizations. Technology, Innovation and Big Data are playing
crucial role in making business and non-business organizations 'competitive'. Technological development
throws open value-added goods and services to the consumers. Technology is both a leveler and a divider
which facilitates cost reduction and competitive edge to business. Democratization of technology poses a
big challenge in the backdrop of huge Research and Development investment. The success rate of R&D
projects is another challenge to democratize technology.
Innovation has to be the 'mantra' for any forward looking organization. It has to be in the DNA of any
organization. It has to become a culture in the organization. Organizations and countries have to build an
eco-system for innovation. Business decisions are based on the availability and accessibility of
information. With digitalization, big data is more accessible today than ever before. Today the question is
not 'lack of information' but getting the ‘right information’ from the big data, analyzing it properly,
interpreting it in the right perspective and applying it into the day-to-day business. This is both a challenge
and an opportunity.
In this backdrop, this International Conference would dwell on topics related to the broad theme of
Technology, Innovation and Big Data for Competitiveness. Research articles are invited on any of the
topics related to the broad theme of the conference. The sub-themes given are only indicative.
