Minute of the meeting
April 4th – MondayThe Portuguese partners arrived at the airport of Craiova and they were accompanied by the
Romanian partners to the hotel.
April 5th – TuesdayAccording to the program, the meeting of the partners started at 10 AM at Dolj County Council,
where all partners presented the results of the survey in their country,
The survey was applied in Romania and Portugal for pupils of 2 high schools,-pupils age 13-18
years old, in 2 general schools -10-15 years old, and for teachers in different kindergarten,
schools, members of ONG –Orizont Cultural T, round 300 pupils and 100 adults.
In institution that we had visited there were EU flags, symbols, special EU halls, classrooms with
EU posters, flyers, leaflets, exhibition, drawing, painting, handicrafts of students, useful information
about Union European and the 27 countries !
We made a comparison of the results and decided to put all the final results on the blog.
The Portuguese partners presented the blog and we discussed several ways of improving it.
After that we discussed about the forum that will be held in Craiova in July 2011, and we decided
about the period and about the participants to the forum, as well as about other organisational
matters.
After lunch we visited some cultural and educational institutions in Craiova:
- Elena Cuza High school
- The “Alexandru si Aristia Aman” Regional Library
- The Museum of Ethnography “Casa Baniei”
- “Sf Dumitru” Cathedral
April 6th – Wednesday
According to the program we visited the following institutions:9.00 - Radio Oltenia- there was an interview of the Portuguese partners about their visit and the
importance of our program, an important way of disseminating the results of our project.
10.00 – Visit to the Regional School Inspectorate, where the Deputy General Inspector Sanda
Nastase received the delegation.
11.00 – Study visit to the “Casuta fermecata” kindergarten.
11.30 –Study visit to the “Beethoven” Special School for Children with Hearing Deficiencies,
where we were received by the director Budana Dumitru and by the Inspector for European
programs, Ms. Diana Bratucu. We had visited the high school learning more about facilities and
support offered to the students with deaf disability. They presented a very beautiful show, dancing
and pantomime spectacle. We had met also the Leonardo team of the project, participants from
more EU countries, Greece, Turkey, France and Spain. We had learned that the students of
Beethoven school had own lot of prices at local and national level, that some of them had got jobs
in different countries from Europe, Canada and America.
12.30 - Study visit to the “Marin Sorescu” Art School.
We had visited the high art school, specialized classrooms for practicing, playing different
instruments, drawing, painting, for developing their talents. We had a meeting-round table, we had
talked to the teachers and students involved in the project about the importance of EU subjects in
school curricula.
We were invited for a very interesting show presented by some of the most talented pupils of the
school, for visiting an exhibition of their work of art. We had lunch.
- 15.00 – Study visit to Secondary School no. 22 ‘’ Mircea Eliade’’
The director Genoveva Ioana invited us to visit the general school, the big space EU and 27
countries at the entrance of the institutions, specialized classrooms for getting knowledge about
Union European, about the rights and responsibilities as European citizens.
We could notice the personalized uniform of the pupils, we had learned about their very important
prices and diplomas in different competitions, at local, national level, about their knowledge of
European countries. Last year, a group of the pupils from this school were invited to visit the
European Parliament at Brussels. The visit was disseminated getting a powerful impact on the
pupils, parents, community.
In the afternoon we visited Natural Romanescu Park, one of Europe’s greatest parks, the big lake,
, river, Tower of Lovers, Hippodrome, Velodrom, Zoo, statues of writers, special places for
children, the big bridge, the place for performing fanfare in special days for cultural events, for
community.

April 7th – Thursday
11.00 – Study visit to School. No.2 “Traian” – one of the schools that were involved in applying the
survey to the pupils.
The deputy headmistress Beatrice Balasa Sorescu had invited us to visit the school, to talk with
the pupils.
There was also a televised interview from the TVS television, together with the teachers and the
pupils who were given the survey. The interviu and activity was presented at TVS program in the
same evening and in the morning of next day.
We had an open lesson with the pupils, interesting conversation with the pupils involved, learning
some Romanian and Portuguese sentences. The pupils had the opportunity to ask our Portuguese
partners about school and family life, about way of recreation, extra curricular activities. The pupils
had sang songs in English and Romanian languages for Portuguese partners.
12.00 – Study visit to “C.Nenitescu” high school, We were invited by headmistress Carmen
Dasoveanu to visit the high school, The pupils, the folk band of the school, also member of Orizont
Cultural T , coordinated by a choreograph and teacher, Lidia Zamfir, member of Orizont Cultural T,
too. The students had presented some beautiful traditional Romanian folk dances.
The Portuguese partners had learned to dances some of our Romanian dances, they had taken
photos with members of the folk band ‘’Ghiocelul-Snowdrop””. The students involved had got lot of
Diploma at local and International competition.
12.30 – Study visit to “Pinocchio” kindergarten. Director Vali Dinca invited us to visit the
kindergarten, the exibition of the handicraft made by kids, EU space, Botanical Eco space,
Greetings for Easter, painted eggs.
13.30 – Study visit to School no.37 “Mihai Eminescu”, another school involved in applying the
survey to the pupils. Director Silvia Cartu and deputy Elena Nicolae invited us to visit the school,
hall for spectacles, EU classrooms and halls, specialized classrooms for science, art and religion.
Pupils have their uniform, they had got very good results at concurs and Olympiad that are
presented in the school Magasin ‘’Luceafarul –Evening Star’’.
The school had good results in Comenius projects, multilateral and Bilateral, pupils and parents
had got knowledge about Union European and the 27 countries.
Teacher of parents of Eminescu school are members of Orizont Cultural T, being involved in
Comenius and Grundtvig projects, also in promoting Senior volunteering activities in partnership
with Vida –Portuguese volunteers. We had learned a lot about intergeneration European activities,
promoting volunteering in the benefit of community in both countries.
15.00 - Sightseeing in the centre of Craiova
April 8th – Friday
We made an interesting visit of the Oltenia region, comprising the Caciulata-Calimanesti Thermal
Baths, the Cozia monastery with its wishing well and museum, the Olt valley and the town of
Ramnicu Valcea in an attempt to show to our partners some elements of our culture and
civilization.
In the evening the Dolj County Council was the host of a farewell dinner.
