Why buy a laptop?If you want a computer that you can use at home, as well as take to work, then you will need a laptop.

PC desktops are approximately 1/2 the price of a laptop. Since laptops are portable, they are more prone to accidents and abuse than desktops.

Upgrading Cost Normally, parts and accessories of laptop and net books are expensive and cost more than desktop accessories.

A laptop is an all-in-one device that is portable. It can be carried with you from room to room.

A desktop PC is one that will reside on a desk in your office or bedroom.

A powerful desktop PC is generally less expensive than a powerful notebook with similar grunt .

For graphics and games The best option is desktop computer.

ConnectivityBoth laptops and desktops have equal connectivity to the Internet through the standard technologies including dial-up modems, DSL or cable modems, Ethernet and Wireless networking

TheftA laptop's small size and portability make it vulnerable to theft. Unless you can lock or secure your laptop, you should take it with you wherever you go. Security devices like cable locks are available for laptops to deter thieves. 

Power consumption If you have been a desktop computer user and are planning to upgrade your machine in near future, please do consider the fact that the power consumption of a Laptop Computer is way less than that of a desktop computer.

Operate without power supply Laptop and net books include chargeable batteries that allow the computers to run without power supply for some time. To increase the operating time on a given battery, the computer components have especially been designed for laptops to consume low power.
