As the University continues to move toward CUNYfirst "full admissions", the CUNY Application is one of the next items on the list to receive an overhaul. This document is a recommendation for necessary features as suggested by Hunter College.

Transcript of 7 Must Have Features for the New CUNY Application

MUST HAVE

FEATURES 7

for the CUNY APPLICATION  ^

#7 CAMPUS- SPECIFIC CONTENT Students must have access to basic campus-specific information such as deadlines,

selective program requirements, and contact info without the need to exit the CUNY

Application or jump to an external website.

#6 SELF-REPORTED DATA The CUNY Application must feature the

ability for students to self-report

academic data such as SAT/ACT,

Regents, and TOEFL test scores, grades,

and class rank. Students should be

made aware how this information will be

used in the admission review and how

verification will take place.

#5 MOBILE ACCESS The CUNY Application must be optimized for

mobile devices. Options include responsive web

design, a mobile application, or a mobile mini-site.

#4 CLOUD INTEGRATION Students must have the ability to upload

supporting documents to the CUNY

Application directly from a number of popular

cloud storage applications.

#3 SOCIAL MEDIA INTEGRATION The CUNY Application should provide a means for colleges to leverage social

media. Social media buttons could allow students to share the excitement of

applying to college with their friends and family while they are still “in the moment.”

#2 CUSTOM REPORTS Each college must have access to view real-time application data and reports that

can be easily customized to suit the needs of the individual college.

#1 HOBSONS CRM SYNC A nightly sync between the CUNY Application and the current University-approved

CRM is required in order to communicate with students throughout their college

application progress.

Got a better idea? We’d love to hear it.
