Value Selling
Danfoss Electric Heating Systems | 31 DEVIreg™ Touch Training
Warranty and Claim Handling 5 years product warranty
Present market standard is 2-3 years but DEVI raise the level to 5 years
In some countries thermostats are considered as a part of the building construction
5 years warranty becomes a legal requirement
End users tend to look at the whole system rather than cables + thermostat
expect a longer lifetime than e.g. a DVD player
Danfoss Electric Heating Systems | 32 DEVIreg™ Touch Training
Warranty and Claim Handling 5 years product warranty
Present market standard is 2-3 years but DEVI raise the level to 5 years
Not all installers do neccesarily like the longer lifetime due to the hassle related to this
DEVI introduce hassle free delivery of replacement product
Danfoss Electric Heating Systems | 33 DEVIreg™ Touch Training
Warranty and Claim Handling
Battery lifetime
DEVIreg 550 problems
A soldering process overheated and discharged the batteries during production (problem solved)
Tariff systems in part of Eastern Europe cuts of the power to the thermostat 2x per day
The battery is discharged faster
Danfoss Electric Heating Systems | 34 DEVIreg™ Touch Training 34
Battery lifetime
Examples with power cuts discharging 1%
Battery is 100% charged
Life time, approx. 30.000 times
Battery is 98% charged
Life time, approx. 6000 times
Battery fully discharged
Life time, approx. 50 times
Charging time on the last few percent is very long.
Warranty and Claim Handling
Danfoss Electric Heating Systems | 35 DEVIreg™ Touch Training
Warranty and Claim Handling
Battery lifetime
Batteries shall when installing first time be charged the first day without power cuts.
Battery is afterwards able to withstand continuous
power cuts of 1x a day of max. 14 hours continuously discharging for about 10 years
or 2x a day of 7 hours…..etc.
As the cycle of power cuts in each market are very individual, so it is best not to “promise somebody the moon”……but instead send a request first.
Otherwise the supply for the thermostat has to be separated from the supply to heating elements via contactor in switchboard
Danfoss Electric Heating Systems | 36 DEVIreg™ Touch Training
