1S SEIRISORTING – CLASSIFICATION OF EVERY THING INTO NECESSARY AND UN-NECESSARY AND REMOVAL OF UNWANTED THINGS FROM WORK PLACE TO ITS DESIGNATED AREA.
2S SEITIONSYSTEMATIC ARRANGEMENT- DECIDING PLACE FOR EVERY THING AND KEEPING EVERY THING AT ITS DESIGNATED PLACE IN ORGANIZED WAY.

Steps involved• Cleaning of workplace, so that it looks neat and clean • Cleaning of equipment to remove dirt and damaged product parts so that the equipment looks in “Tip-Top”
condition• Cleaning schedules with assigned responsibilities for equipment, tool trolley and work bench• Systems for collection of off-cuts and scrap / waste material with proper securing of the collection devices• Looking for oil leakages & plugging / rectifying problem• Looking for cracks in equipment & repairing them• Checking for clogged pipelines and drains• Cleaning bulbs, sensors, flags etc

Steps involved• Following first 3S, that is SEIRI, SEITO & SEIKETSU through audits with check sheets • Maintaining a safe and hygienic workplace • Wearing clean clothes• Following safety regulations• Setting up visual controls , where possible, to recognise and spot any malfunctioning of equipment• Identifying areas of high noise, vibration and heat radiation and eliminating them through KAIZEN
