4GWIRELESS TECHNOLOGY

NURUL RAZREENA AMILIN

There are four type of Generation developed and they as follows.

History of Wireless Technology

First Generation (1G)

Second Generation (2G)

Third Generation (3G)

Fourth Generation (4G)

• Ultra High Speed Data Transmission

• From 1 Mbps to 1 Gbps• Orthogonal Frequency Division

Multiplexing (OFDM)

Fourth Generation (4G)

Fourth Generation (4G)

• 4G will change the way we work, live and play.

• Cheap end user costs, fast, always on, reliable doing.

• Some people view 3G as a stop gap until the real 4G network arrives, something which is due around 2010 and will impact every one, every where.

• 4G will provide unconceivable amount of bandwidth to the palm of a user.

• Will make world Dynamic, Fast, Easier to Access.

Fourth Generation (4G)

• Matching current Local Area Network speeds, 4G networks will provide 100 MBps on the move. This is enough for studio quality video, multi channel surround sound and much more.

• 4G will be based in OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)

- the next generation in access technologies.

• Some possible IEEE standards for the 4G system are 802.20

“Based on OFDM Technology from 2005 till today”

Fourth Generation (4G)1. Services:

-Higher Capacity, - Completely IP-Oriented, - Multimedia High Data Rate Transfer

2. Standard - Single Standard

3. Data Bandwidth- Higher than 100 Mbps

4. Multiplexing- OFDM

5. Core Network- Internet

4G is MAGIC!!!

M = MOBILE MULTIMEDIA

A = ANYTIME MULTIMEDIA

G = GLOBAL MOBILITY SUPPORT

I = INTEGRATED WIRELESS SOLUTION

C = CUSTOMIZED PERSONAL SERVICES.

Software and Hardware

1. Software• Software Defined Radio

• Packet Layer

2. Hardware• LTE (Long Term Evolution)

• Wimax

Hardware of 4G

• Support for interactive multimedia, voice, streaming video, Internet, and other broadband services.

• IP based mobile system. • High speed, high capacity • low cost-per-bit Global access, service

portability • scalable mobile services Seamless switching, • A variety of Quality of Service-driven services • Better scheduling and call-admission-control

techniques Ad-hoc and multi-hop networks • Better spectral efficiency Seamless network

of multiple protocols and air interfaces.

Advantages

• Expensive. • Battery uses are more.

• Hard to implement • Need complicated hardware.

Disadvantages
