August 17 Amish Outlaws The Amish practice a
tradition called Rumspringa (running around) at 16 they
can live free of the strict Amish code before deciding if
they want to be baptized into the Amish church.
Surprisingly, virtually all of the
youths return. But sometimes they
don't. Four of the original six
members of the Amish Outlaws
were born and raised in Lancaster,
PA and had a strict Amish
upbringing. No electricity from
land lines, no alcohol, no musical
instruments, but their spirits were
too wild for the Amish lifestyle.
Once they trampled in the Devil's Playground, there was
no turning back. Since Rumspringa, the Amish Outlaws
have become well acclimated to the pleasures and vices of
the modern world... music, most of all. From Johnny
Cash, JayZ, Lady Gaga to Bon Jovi & Elvis they will
entertain you! www.amishoutlaws.com

SUMMER CAMPS
SCIENSATIONAL: FOLLOW ME ROBOT* July 17 to 21, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM,
Arboretum, ages 7 to 12, $155
How would you like to build a robot
that has four built-in microphones? It
will detect the sound source and it will
move and turn accordingly. It is your
own robot to build and take
home. Wow! It starts flashing and
plays “Do-Re-Me.” Make it move the way you want it to
move. It is so smart that it will move in its own routine if it
does not get a signal in one minute. It will go to sleep if you
do not issue any commands in 90 seconds. However, you can
wake it up. Learn about the different gears and sensors as
you build it. Get to build other robots working in
groups. Join in our Sumo wrestling and obstacle course
events with what you have built. See everything happening
as you build. That’s the Sciensational way!
* Sciensational camps: Campers who sign up for both the
morning and afternoon session in a given week may bring a
lunch and stay through the lunch hour for free.
SCIENSATIONAL: ARCADE ELECTRONICS
GALORE* July 17 to 21, 12:45 PM to 3:45 PM, Arboretum,
ages 7 to 12, $155
Get ready to build and play your own arcade games and more.
You will have at your disposal: resistors, switches, wires, LED
diodes, transistors, and more. Do not get overwhelmed;
building with electronics is fun! You will program the
spinning light fan to display various sayings. Build and play a
Home Run Derby game. See who gets the most home runs
before getting 10 outs, and a winning song will cheer. Build
circuits to test your memory, and one to play the card game 21.
You can learn to program the circuit board to emit a variety of
funky sounds. Play with the disco ball, sirens, or a light show,
and learn the effects of the different electronic components.
Learn what amps, volts, resistance, and power are. Yes, we
will learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Math) by doing.
SCIENSATIONAL: MAKE IT & TAKE IT HOME* July 24 to 28, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Arboretum,
ages 6 to 11, $155
In this hands-on, fun, and exciting program, you will discover
how amazing science is. You will make and take home a wide
assortment of toys designed to teach you science concepts in a
hands-on way. Grow and take home a crystal tree. Make an
energy bead bracelet and watch as those amazing beads turn
from white to a rainbow of colors before your eyes. Build a
working electric motor. Make your own sharpie pen T-shirt
and learn some cool chemistry (camper supplies a 100% cotton
T-shirt). Make your own bubbling blobs and explore the
properties of a density tube. Make silly putty, glowing goo,
green flubber, and other cool projects. By the way...we will
also make ice cream in our own amazing, different,
Sciensational way!
SCIENSATIONAL: HOVER CRAFT* July 24 to 28, 12:45 PM to 3:45 PM,
Arboretum, ages 6 to 11, $155
Do you want to design and build things that
you create, not just a model you
purchase? Well, this is the camp for
you. Build and keep an air-powered Hover
Craft. You make it defy gravity. Once it’s
up and moving, you can control its direction.
Build and take home your own car powered by more than one
source of energy. We provide you with many materials for
that crazy-looking vehicle that you will build. Also, we will
build an Egg Drop Car, a gravity vehicle that can cushion a
raw egg as it is dropped from significant height. We provide
you with the material to cushion the fall. You have to be
creative. In these three challenges in one week, you will learn
about laws of motion, energy, air pressure, friction, lift, speed,
and acceleration. You are never too young to learn and have
fun in a Sciensational hands-on way.

Square dancing is the official folk dance of New Jersey. It gives people the opportunity to spend time with a warm
and friendly group, make new friends, and get low-impact aerobic exercise all at the same time. It is a great way to
keep mentally and physically fit! The
instructor, Ed Kerns, has taught hundreds of
people to square dance in an enjoyable, fun-
filled setting. He begins with simpler
“calls” and then progresses on to those of
more complexity, stressing repetition and
review for ease of learning. After the 12-
week mid-point, students will be able to
dance at special area dances, and after
graduating, will be able to dance the
mainstream program at the many area
square dances and join the Flutterwheels at

Western religious art and history. Its collection of medieval stained glass and sculpture is

the trip, Guest Guide Chip Colombo. Come and explore the rich history of the Morris and the Lehigh
Canals. We will visit three museums, a historic inclined plane, and
take a ride on Pennsylvania’s only mule-drawn canal boat
attraction. At the Inclined Plane, 9 West, we will discover how
these planes (the canal implemented 23 of them and 23 lift locks)
overcame an elevation change of almost 1,700 feet, an unbroken
world record. The tender’s house, turbine chamber, and tailrace
tunnel are still in place making this site one of the best remaining
examples of these engineering marvels. Bread Lock Park includes
a learning center which houses detailed models and displays of
Lock 7 West, ("The Bread Lock"), the inclined plane in
Bowerstown, the Shippen Manor, and Oxford Furnace, all located in NJ. There are also many artifacts to view from
this bygone era. The third museum, the National Canal Museum, interprets the history, science, and technology of
canal construction and navigation, through exhibits and hands-on activities. The locktender’s house will also be open
with a guide who will enlighten us on the importance of the locktenders and their families. Behind the house is
a perennial flower garden to enjoy while taking in the beautiful views of the Lehigh Canal. Please pack a lunch and
drink, bring $12 for the boat ride, and wear sturdy footwear. This tr ip will not run if hard rain is in the
