Practical Workshop on
High Power Laser(HPL) Introduction: This practical workshop aims to deliver
the technique of treating patients with
HPL. The high-power laser technology is
based on the principles of low power
laser therapy, but offers higher power
output (up to 15 Watt) which clinically
provides:
✓ A greater photonic delivery
✓ Shortening treatment times
✓ Generating a thermal effect
Benefits: ✓ Facilitates circulation
✓ Improves healing
✓ Immediately arrest specific tissue and joint pain

Chattanooga Combine Movement
Therapy (CCMT) is combining voluntary
movement during wireless NMES
stimulation. CCMT is clinically proven
effective to improve muscle strength and
more importantly to translate improved
muscle strength into functional
movement addressing dynamic instability
of joints.

DISCUSSION TOPICS
Shoulder Forum and Practical Workshop SummaryThe shoulder has got more mobility and the fastest movement than any other joints in the body. As the shoulder doesn’t have much bony stability, a lot of the stability and movement of the shoulder depends on muscle function.
In recent years, clinical researches show technological advances in physical modalities, such as portable wireless NMES, cryocompression, proprioceptive training devices, functional bracing, real-time neuromuscular training & functional assessment platform can help to address the challenges. At this symposium, a panel of healthcare professionals from Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan (兩岸三地) & the UK will share their best practices and latest evidences addressing the issues of rehabilitation for the shoulder.
1. Improving conservative management of shoulder at primary care level.2. Controlling shoulder pain early postop while resuming ADL at home3.‘REST is the devil’ - recent research discourage strict shoulder immobilisation which could
result in functional instability with muscle inhibition, muscular atrophy, and poorneuromuscular control. How to perform mobilization without endangering tendon healing?
4. Muscle activation should start early, how?5. When & how to start proprioception exercise, closed chain exercises early?6. POLICE – now it is well accepted that Progressive Optimal Loading within a certain limit
enhances ligament healing and improves joint function, how?7. Share of best practices: rehabilitation promoting functional recovery and
safe Return To Sport
