Stroke Rehabilitation at Mystic Healthcare

Aggressive rehabilitation utilizing effective techniques that increase strength and range of motion while improving balance and coordination

Patients receive intensive Physical and Occupational Therapy up to 7 days/week and Speech Therapy up to 5 days/week according to an individualized care plan to return them to the best possible quality of life.

Therapies include: Electrostim, Diathermy, Ultrasound and VitalStim Dysphagia Therapy

Neurologist Dr. Neer Zeevi rounds every 2 weeks to monitor patientsprogress toward goals.

Mystic Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center offers a multi-faceted approach utilizing pharmacologic treatment and advanced rehabilitation therapy, implemented by a multi-disciplinary team of providers in neurology, physiatry, and internal medicine.

Our rehabilitation program focuses on your specific neurologic injury. Strategies and techniques are incorporated to create an individualized therapeutic experience to return you to a maximal level of function.

Neer Zeevi, MD, DirectorDr. Zeevi is a neurohospitalist at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, New London, CT and Assistant Professor of Neurology, UCONN School of Medicine.

Bruce A. Cooper, MDDr. Cooper is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and is on staff at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital. Dr. Cooper rounds 3 days per week at Mystic Healthcare. On alternating days, a nurse practitioner under his supervision provides coverage.

Joseph W. Peters, MDDr. Peters is a physiatrist and Board-certified in Physical and Rehabilitative Medicine. He is on staff at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital. Dr. Peters rounds weekly at Mystic Healthcare.

All Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy is coordinated by our Rehabilitation Services Director.
