Community-wide Safety/Security
Vehicle Decals The Crystal Falls vehicle decal is used community-wide to meet safety needs and enables staff and local police to identify vehicles belonging within Crystal Falls. New residents receive two vehicle decals in their wel-come packet. Additional decals are available by contacting Randy Vogel at Goodwin Management, 512-502-7506.
National Night Out, Aug. 3
Each year communities nationwide take time on one designated day to stop and get to know their neighbors. On August 3rd, Crystal Falls residents have the opportunity to meet neighbors, enjoy current friendships, and make new friends. This is a great time for block parties, grilling, and kids activities. By getting to know your neighbors, it will also be easier to recognize if an outsider is present. The City of Leander police and fire departments will be active-ly visiting communities on this night to answer questions and inform residents.
Community Web SiteGoodwin Management maintains a Crystal Falls web site enabling homeowners easy access to information and forms from the comfort of your home or office. Pool card keys and remotes can be ordered, amenity reservations can be made, and owners can complete violation reports and ACC improvement request forms. The Landscape Design Manual, deed restrictions for all Crystal Falls communities as well as past issues of our community newsletter are also online. Looking for your voting representative? You will find the list on this site—all with the ease and convenience of online access. Visit http://crf.goodwintx.com.

Community-wide Landscaping
The last two summers have really hit landscaping hard, with rainfall scarce and water rationed. Native Texas Hill Country plants and grasses help the environment and have the added advantage of being deer resistant and easy to care for. They use much less water and blend into the sur-roundings naturally. For example, due to its extremely low water requirements, Bermuda grasses such as Zoysia and TIF have been chosen over St. Augustine (which requires
more water and creates border issues at property lines). In addition, use of native plants creates a cohesive
look in the Crystal Falls community, which is known for recycling the existing quarry rock and combining it with muhly grasses, lantana, and other Hill Country classics. For guidelines, go online to http://crf.goodwintx.com and check out the Landscape Design Manual to see a list of native plants as well as examples of planting designs.

New Sidewalk Helps Keep Kids SafeWork is complete on the new sidewalk along Bagdad Rd from Crystal Falls to the high school. This finalizes a joint endeavor between The Lookout Group and the City of Leander to ensure safe travel for children walking to Leander High School. “We were striving for something special,” said Mr. Bozak, “and are very pleased with this one-of-a-kind sidewalk that is both artful and practical.”

New Signal Light to Benefit The Highlands, Winkley ElementaryChildren riding bikes and walking to Winkley Elementary in the fall will benefit from the new signal light currently being installed at the entry to The Highlands. Heavy traffic on Lakeline prompted the City of Leander to take action to protect the children going to and from school. City police and volunteer crossing guards have been previously on duty, and the light is a welcome addition.

Holder Family - Crystal Falls’ First Community ‘Rock Star’
Several times each year, Crystal Falls HOA will desig- nate a new community “Rock Star.” This home will exemplify the Texas Hill Country theme by creative use of the natural stone that unifies all the communities of Crystal Falls. Many of our homes have monument rocks with addresses intricately carved by the Reagan Brothers,
or beautiful retaining walls artfully constructed by Apache Graders. But some homes stand out as especially artistic. Our first Rock Star is the home at 1411 High Lonesome, which has a beautiful retaining wall with stone steps, native Texas landscaping and a native stone water collec-tion tank in the backyard. Congratulations to the Holder family on being our first Crystal Falls Rock Star!
Introducing Cap RockOur newest addition, Cap Rock at Crystal Falls, is nestled in the tenderloin of the golf course just off Crystal Falls Parkway. This gated community, built exclusively by Grand Haven Homes, will include homes over 2,000 sq. ft. built on lots ranging from 60’ to 80’ in size, many backing to the Crystal Falls golf course. Grand Haven Homes is striving for a cohesive “resort-like” look with West Coast architecture, tile roof components, gourmet kitchens and lavish outdoor entertaining areas. A tightly restricted buf-fer zone adjoining the golf course restricts the removal of trees and maintains the environment desired by golfers while allowing empty nesters/active adults to enjoy the convenience of this prime location.
Yard of the Month winners represent each section of Crystal Falls and receive a $50 Lowe’s gift card.
