James 1 v 19-27

Everyone must be:

Quick to listen

Slow to speak

Slow to get angry

God requires a righteous life from us

Therefore:

Get rid of moral filth and evil

Humbly accept God’s word

How can God’s word save us?

Why do we look in the mirror?

What do we need to look for in God’s word?

The perfect law that gives freedom

Romans 3 v 20Therefore no one will be

declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law;

rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

Jeremiah 31 v 31-34

What law does God tell us to keep?

To love

So that’s the theory, what about the practice?

What is good religion?

Tight rein on our tongues

Look after those in distress

Avoid being polluted

God gives us both the will and the strength to live a life

worthy of our calling

In summary, we need to:

LISTEN to God’s word

RECEIVE the truth

OBEY the law He has written on our hearts
