Description of the test object The test objects were steel cable ties type MBT xx UHD, manufactured by HellermannTyton UK. MBT xx UHD is a double wrap tie, wrapped two times around the cables. Test performed The test was performed strictly according to the client’s instructions. The peak factor of the test current was based on IEC 61439-1. 1 short-circuit test was performed. Test procedure The test was performed in a three phase circuit. 3 x 300 mm2 cables were fixed to a cable ladder in a trefoil formation by means of the tested steel cable ties type MBT xx UHD. The length of the cables were 8 m, and the length of the cable ladder was 3 m. The cables were connected to L1, L2 and L3 of the supply circuit in one end by means of cable lugs. In the other end the cables were short-circuited by means of cable lugs connected to a 10 x 40 mm Cu bar. The steel cable ties were fixed on traverses of the cable ladder. The distance between the cable ties were 300 mm. Totally 8 identical cable ties were part of the test. See photo on page no. 8. The cable ladder was placed on wooden pallets and strapped to the floor. Test results The test objects were visually inspected after the test. No damages were observed on the test objects. See photos on page no 10. The test result is only valid for the tested items.
