Firstly,IwouldliketothanktheGermanShepherdDogClubofQueenslandandtheManagementCommitteefortheappointmenttoadjudicateatthisyearsStateBreedExhibition. Asalways,thisclubconductsawell-organizedeventunder theumbrellaof thehardworking&veryefficientShowSecretaryMandyScrivens. IalsotakethisopportunitytothankmyassemblyStewardJeanHansford&myveryprofessionalStenographer,Mrs Fay Stokes. Thanks also to Gail Donald for the amazing photographs, capturing special moments &creatingawonderfulatmosphere.TherewasanincidentregardingtheguntestofwhichIwasinformedthatwedidnothaveagunpresent,sotheStateBreedSurveyorsagreedthatwewouldproceed&accepttheOpenanimalsSurveyresultswhichwasannouncedoverthePA.Followingtheannouncement,acorrectgunwaspresentedtome&thereforeIwasabletocontinuewiththeguntestintheOpenclasses.Unfortunately,Ihad2failuresintheOpenBitchclassMygratitudealsototheowners&handlersfortheirsportsmanship&presentationoftheirdogs&especiallyhighly commendable was their off lead work that demonstrated their feelings & passions to present theiranimals in the best possible light, you all deservemany accolades. Itwas a little disappointing that a fullrepresentation of the States dogs & bitches were not entered due to different genuine circumstances,includingtheGermanSiegerShow-perhapsconsiderationbegiventoanalternativedatefortheStateBreedExhibition. Itwasunfortunateas Iwasunabletoassessthetotalqualityofanimalsthat Iknowexist inthisStateatthistime.Ihavestatedmanytimesinthepastthatitisofutmostimportancethattoourlongtermbreedingtodevelopquality,type&uniformity&obtainMotherlinesofsubstancetostrengthenlongtermsuccess&fosterseriousbreeding. Iamfullyaware,thatwithoutyoursupport&dedicationtheBreedAssessmentwouldnotbethesuccessthatitis&forthatIthankyouTheSBE isa formofguidancetocreateenthusiasm&forbreeders toassess thequality&thebreedworthtogether,particularlytoencouragethehighestlevel&evaluatetheanimalsinyourownState.Eveninasmallway, the worth of the major bloodlines & their influence at this event in itself served the need for us tofacilitateaclassofdogsthatareanextensionoftheExcellentdogs.
