Bousquet Holstein PLLC is pleased to present this year’s Photography Contest Finalists. On behalf of the members and employees of our law firm, we thank each student for their entries and for sharing their vision, creativity, and photography skills. Our judges had a difficult time selecting finalists from the many entries we received, and, in this slide show, we are pleased to present the 23 finalists they selected.

As it has every year, our inspiration comes from the Everson Museum of Art. This year, our theme was inspired by the art of Yoko Ono.Yoko Ono’s first solo show, This is Not Here, was held at the Everson in 1971. This fall the Everson will host Yoko Ono: Remembering The Future. Yoko Ono’s art is devoted to fostering the imagination and creating human connections. She once said, "Art is my life and my life is art.“ She was a member of Fluxus, which, according to Artsy, embodied a “spirit of rebellion against the commercial art market, elitism, and the conventions of both art and society, had its roots in Dada, Futurism, and Surrealism, while its irreverence and youthful energy were in tune with the burgeoning counterculture of the 1960s.”

This year's photo contest theme was titled Art of Living / Living Art.

With the inspiration of Yoko Ono's art and the Fluxus movement, we asked students to create images that are irreverent, reflect living art and the art of living, embody the unconventional and the revolutionary, and that champion the art of our everyday lives.

Bousquet Holstein PLLC is committed to our clients and to the communities in which we live and work. Our attorneys volunteer their time and lend their talents in board and leadership positions to civic, charitable, arts and education organizations supporting not‐for‐profit initiatives throughout the Central Upstate New York region. Each year our firm features the winning image on our Thanksgiving card with a short biography about the student photographer.
