Whether you watched it during its three year run on Broadway, or saw the 1955 movie with Marilyn Monroe in her iconic white dress, you are surely familiar with this charming play about fidelity and temptation.
Richard Sherman is given the opportunity to live a bachelor’s life while his family is away on vacation. He is enjoying his time away from his wife and son when a voluptuous blonde moves upstairs. His overactive, over-vivid imagination goes into overdrive. Richard’s Viennese psychiatrist suggests that after seven years of a monogamous relationship, couples start to have the “itch” to explore other relationships. A soul-struggle of heroic and hilarious proportions ensues. Find out if Richard will behave or fall to temptation of the “Seven Year Itch” in this comedy, which first made Marilyn Monroe famous on the silver screen.

Prepare to “Dream the Impossible Dream” in this classic and romantic musical featuring some of the greatest music ever written. Man of La Mancha ran on Broadway for 2,328 performances and won the Tony for Best Musical. Many have enjoyed the film starring Peter O’Toole and Sophia Loren, have seen the revival with Brian Stokes Mitchell and Marin Mazzie or heard the recording by opera great Placido Domingo and Mandy Patinkin.
Miguel de Cervantes has been thrown in a dungeon by the Spanish Inquisition with only a trunk of meager possessions. He takes us on a journey recruiting the other prisoners to play his loyal friends, troubled maidens, giant monsters and brave knights. Watch him transform into the knight errant, Don Quixote, on his quest to defend the love of his Aldonza. There’s no question that classic songs such as I am I, Don Quixote, It’s All the Same, Dulcinea, I’m Only Thinking of Him, I Really Like Him, Little Bird, and of course The Impossible Dream will remain in your soul well after you leave the theatre. Don Quixote’s quest is filled with humor and poignancy and dares everyone to dream.

Mel Brooks adapted his famous 1968 movie into a Broadway show starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick. The play was a hit and won a record breaking 12 Tony Awards! Indulge in show-stopping hits such as King of Broadway, I Wanna Be a Producer, When You Got It, Flaunt It, Springtime for Hitler, and We Can Do It along with many others.
Washed up Broadway Producer Max Bialystock teams up with timid accountant Leo Bloom in a get-rich-quick scheme to put on what they hope to be Broadway’s biggest flop ever. If they get investors to over fund the show, they can skim the profits off the top and flee to Rio! Watch as they sink deeper and deeper as their “flop” becomes an overnight smash hit! Throw in a Swedish blonde bombshell, a flamboyant director, a kick line of dancing nuns, a Nazi lunatic playwright, a score filled with catchy fun tunes, and you have a laugh-out-loud musical spectacle.

Sweeney Todd has become a worldwide success since its Broadway premiere, receiving eight Tony awards, including Best Musical. Stephan Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler crafted a tasty, thrilling, theatrical treat that has delighted audiences with songs like No Place Like London, Green Finch and Linnet Bird, Johanna, Pretty Women, Worst Pies in London, and Not While I’m Around.
This is a dark and twisted tale of love, murder and revenge. The play tells the story of Sweeney Todd, a former barber who was unjustly imprisoned for 15 years on trumped-up charges, and his return to London to seek revenge on the corrupt judge who banished him. He joins forces with his delightful accomplice, Mrs. Lovett, to bake his victims into meat pies. This dark musical, in the same vein as our highly successful Jekyll & Hyde, is rich with plot twists and soaring choral and orchestral accompaniment. Sweeney Todd is a masterpiece that is sure to thrill and delight!

from the desk of Peter n. SlackPRESIDENt oF thE BRoADwAY thEAtRE
As we prepare for 2016 and The Broadway Theatre’s 10th Anniversary, I would like to take a moment to thank you for your continued support of the Broadway Theatre of Pitman.
The Broadway Theatre is 90 years old and was originally used for live entertainment. We have continued this tradition by expanding our offering of live events to include concerts, plays, musicals and Children’s Theatre productions. We have an incredible lineup of shows this year and I encourage you to check our website, pitmanbroadwaytheatre.com, for the latest event and concert updates.
As we continue adding events, we believe it’s important to keep our productions family-oriented and cost-effective during these difficult economic times. We are the only Theatre in this area that receives no federal or state grants for our productions. Your support is essential to maintain this remarkable, historic building and keep live theatre thriving within the Theatre’s nostalgic setting.
We know that you have multiple places to choose from for theatre entertainment in South Jersey, and we truly appreciate your support of the only private vaudeville theatre in the tri-state area.
As always, your feedback is highly valued and appreciated. Please visit our website’s homepage at pitmanbroadwaytheatre.com and click on the “Contact Us” button to tell us how we’re doing.
Thanks again for your continued support.
Peter
