2014 Annual Report

DEAR FRIENDS,Today, more Americans are in poverty than ever before. Over the past five decades, the federal government has spent $15 trillion on efforts to get people out of poverty. The result is a patchwork of 92 different government programs, each with their own complex criteria and built in disincentives that actually keep people trapped in a cycle of dependency.
Here at CCFW, we’re tired of watching and facilitating the treatment of poverty symptoms. We’ve been serving the poor for over a century, and are on the leading edge of poverty research and innovation in our nation. It’s time to take a closer look at poverty, its causes, its solutions, and – most importantly – the people who struggle with poverty every day.
Each of the more than 40 programs offered at Catholic Charities Fort Worth focuses on providing services to help break the cycle of poverty. No problem is too big or intimidating for us to tackle, and we’re committed to testing and finding comprehensive solutions that change lives forever.
I am thankful that you are not afraid to stand with us and look close into the face of poverty. It is only by doing so that we can truly give help and hope to our neighbors in need, one family at a time. Thank you for the gifts of your time, treasure, and talent. Thank you for partnering with us to end poverty.
With sincere gratitude,
Heather ReynoldsPresident/CEO

“Through your joyful witness and service,
help to build a civilization of love. Show, by
your life, that it is worth giving your time

it is worth recognizing the dignity of each

for Christ and his Gospel.” - Pope Francis
