2014 Uplift a Child International Annual Report December 15
th
USA India Nepal Philippines
Dear Friends, Sponsor’s & well-wishers,
We thank God for His blessings and guidance as we approach to the end of our 14th
year of service to the
less fortunate children since its inception in 2000. We cannot forget the encouragement and the support that
we received from 580 sponsors (USA, UK, India, Ukraine, UAE, Oman, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany,
Switzerland, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, & South America), 80 volunteers from east to west, and friends from all
over along with the help of our administrative teams and Board of Directors from USA, Nepal, India &
Philippines.
We had a fantastic year with lot of activities and celebrations which include Annual Award ceremonies,
Sponsor’s Meets, Independence Day Celebrations, Fundraisers, Walkathon and Seminars. We could sense
the team spirit which led to the success of every event. Three Dance Academies have conducted programs
exclusively for raising funds for the benefit of our children. We are promoted through walkathon program.
Some kids donated all their birthday celebrations’ money to Uplift a Child and also did fundraising program
on Children’s day. I am happy to inform you about our successful launching of Uplift a Child in the
Philippines. Ms. Jocelyn Soriano has come forward to take this mission to Philippines and she is the
Director for Philippines. This year we have extended our help to the children at Chitwan in Nepal. We were
able to sponsor 300 more children who have been waiting for help.
We are much delighted to experience this success through the support of our Sponsors, Volunteers, well-
wishers, Schools and Business vendors. We express our sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to all of you.
We are proud to say that we have achieved beyond our expectations which has become possible just
because of you all. We recommit ourselves to serve the underprivileged by giving them quality education.
Wish you Happy holidays and a have a great New Year 2015!
Thank you,
Sam & Rena Vonumu

Walkathon By Rachana Krishnan & Team on August 23, 2014 in Chantilly, VA, USA:
After attending our event, a 14-year old high school girl Rachana Krishnan from Virginia was determined to
do a Walkathon entitled Educate on the run/ 5K Run/Walk . She gathered some of her friends, talked to
county park, took permission and had 100 people participate. We appreciate the goodness of Ms. Rachana
Krishnan. Thanks to all the participants who came up with a great spirit.

Cake & Bake Sale by Rachana Krishnan & Team
Rachanas team, students of Sindhura Dance School did a bake sale by baking 600 different varieties of
goodies and raised money for this cause. We appreciate their commitment by going that extra mile for a
great cause. They have donated every dollar they have risen to Uplift a Child.
BIRTHDAY DONATIONS
Romir & Myra Paulus, the twin boy and girl of Piya & Robby
Paulus have celebrated their 10th
birthday and have donated all
their birthday gift money to Uplift a Child to support a child for
12 years of education.
We are amazed at the spirit of the little children who came
forward to do something like this. They are leading by example
from a young age. All of us at Uplift a Child are thankful to
them and proud of them.
Vyshnavi Kolli, She is the daughter of one of our sponsors Mr. & Mrs. Shiva &
Sushmitha Kolli. She did not celebrate her birthday in a big way
as they usually do all the time.
This time, Vyshnavi have seen her parents talking about how
they are helping children for education in India and why they are
doing it. At her little tender age, she felt and told her parents to
donate the expense money towards Uplift a Child so that another
child can go to School.

OUR SPONSOR’S SPECIAL CONTRIBUTION
We would like to thank many of our sponsor’s families who have done the following
1. Some of our sponsor’s children have donated their birthday gift money to Uplift a Child
2. Some of our sponsor’s families have donated the money from their anniversary programs to
Uplift a Child.

end of the year.
5. Some of them have actually donated the money they have for God’s gift towards sponsoring
hundreds of meals (food for our children during our annual events)
ADOPT A CHILD FOREVER PROGRAM
We now have started a new program called “Adopt a Child Forever Program”. For US $2,500 we can
support a child forever by depositing the money to a fixed deposit in the bank and the interest is enough to
pay for annual expenses for a child in our program in India. Now many sponsors are considering this
program and sponsoring children in their parent’s name, foundation name or in memory of someone whom
they love so much. With this money, we support a child for 12 years and then pick a new child and support
for 12 more years and the cycle will continue forever.
OUR FINANCIAL REPORT
Our goal for 2014 is $ 245,000. We received a total of US $210,000. We are short by $35,000 as of
12th
December, 2014. We are thankful to the contributions from 580 individual sponsors as well as few
company matching funds. The financial report for 2014 will be available online for anyone once it is ready
on guidestar.org.

OUR PLANS FOR 2015
1. Through the inspiration of Walkathon by high school girl Rachana Krishnan, we have a desire to do
Walkathons in at least 3 locations in US next year. We have our website ready where people can register
online for walkathon. We can decide if we will do $ 25 or $ 30 for the registration. This will be either a
5K walk or a 2K walk. We invite anyone who would like to take lead and make a difference.
2. After our three successful dance events, some more dance schools have come forward to do some events
in the name of their Dance school. We invite anyone who would like to be a part of Uplift a Child to do
a fundraiser and we can take care of all the expenses.
3. We are not planning to take too many children in 2015 but we will continue to improve quality in
existing children with the help of our local volunteers. We may take a few children since we have
promised them the previous year.
4. We are inviting our Sponsors to conduct the Annual Children Programs during their visit to India with
the assistance of Uplift a Child India team. We are looking for any of our current sponsors to conduct
2014 programs in Karmatar and Bisunpur in Jharkhand, Naxalbari in West Bengal and Gossaigaon in
Assam.
