YCM’s SOUPER BOWL of CARING
This Sunday – February 2nd Just two weeks ago, Yadkin Christian Ministries
assisted 92 families and gave out 350 bags of food
in 2 days. We’re called to respond as God’s people
sharing His love in tangible ways with our neighbors.
Let’s be generous in our giving, doing more than
merely watching a football game. We can
make a difference in the lives of others!!

Uncommon is a film that inspires you to live a life that is out of the ordinary! The setting is a public school where students face unexpected changes to their freedom and faith. This movie will educate you about the fact that students do not lose their right to free speech when they enter the schoolhouse. The film stars Erik Estrada. He is best known for his leading role in the television series ChiP’s. He plays the role of a high school janitor and volunteers to help the students salvage their drama and music programs. He will be speaking before the showing of the film; as well as, Jason Campbell, Dean Haskins and recording artist - Brandy Allison. She is the writer and composer of the music used in the film. Admission to this event is FREE, however tickets are required. Seating is limited, so reserve your tickets today by seeing Brad & Shannon White or Sandra Overby. Deadline for ticket reservation is Sunday - February 16th. A love offering will be received to support the cast of the movie.

Is creation a viable model of origins in today’s modern, scientific era? Leading creation apologist and bestselling Christian author Ken Ham will debate this question with popular TV personality and evolution apologist Bill Nye. Each
man will share information supporting their respective position and then there will be an opportunity for rebuttal and afterward questions submitted by the audience. This debate has already generated significant media attention and
tickets to attend this debate at the Creation Museum sold out within 2 minutes.
Dear Maplewood Church Family, After considerable thought and prayer, I have decided to resign
my position as church & financial secretary. I assure you it was
not an easy decision to make.
As you know, I have continued in my other part-time job, working
from home. Although I entered this endeavor with the earnest
belief I could do both and carry out my responsibilities as a mother
& wife, it has proved to be far more of a challenge that I expected.
I value the experience I have received at Maplewood, and greatly
appreciate your giving me this opportunity. Maplewood is truly a
special place. I have been touched by the warmth and kindness
demonstrated to me by each church member that I have met.
I wish you all the best and will pray for a smooth transition.
Sincerely,
Jodi Gough

What happens when we forget the basics in any area of life? We run the risk of abandoning what brought us to the this moment. Innovation occurs as we bring the basics of our faith into the present and future - not as we change what we believe.
