Our Mission The Learning Exchange (TLE)/Centre Lire-crire is a volunteer not-for-profitorganization dedicated to addressing theneeds of the Laval & Northshore Englishspeaking community. TLE serves, recruits,trains, and supports members of the
community through reading, writing,numeracy, and life-skills programs.

Our Services
Book Club
A Reading Circle, run by volunteers, takesplace at different locations, in Chomedey,Laval on a monthly basis.
Book Shar ing
Book exchanges, give-aways, and sales takeplace at the CDC ~ Laurier Vimont AdultEducation Centre on a regular basis.
Computer Access
TLEs Resource Centre features a computercorner, equipped with new computers,resource materials and Internet access.
Family Li teracy
In our efforts to help create new family patterns and promote life-long learning as apriority, TLE provides Family Literacy prevention and intervention programmes,events, and workshops to parents, schools andfamilies, designed to instill a love of learning culture within the home.

Resource Centre
Our Resource and Learning Centre offers aprofessional environment in which to work. The center houses a diverse selection of resource & learning materials for students,tutors, educators and parents, including audiovisual equipment/resources, andInternet access.
Student Chat
Student Chat is an event organized severaltimes during the school year for learners tohave the opportunity to come together with
fellow students from TLE and/or otherliteracy organizations.
Student Services
Services for students include: individualized education plans free tutorials and materials free library membership free access to numerous events
Tutor ia ls
From September through August, trained volunteer tutors work one-on-one or insmall groups with adult literacy students.
Tutor Talk & Volunteer Voice
Workshops
TLE offers an interactive, hands-on Basic Tutor Training programme for all new tutors.
Workshops
Additional workshops and training sessions areoffered during the year to tutors, students, volunteers, and parents based on funding andthe expressed needs of our members.
Events
Volunteers and students are recognizedthroughout the year for their hard work andaccomplishments. TLEs activities providemembers with opportunities to meet otherstudents, volunteers and tutors, andencourage participation and involvement in
TLEs literacy programme.
