1991 – 2015

Foundation of CES

CES was founded by Hans-Werner Sinn on 18 January 1991.

The funds came from the ministry of culture to counter an offer that Sinn had received from the University of Berne,

Switzerland. CES was gradually expanded over the

years by further counter offers to offers Sinn received from the Max-Planck-

Society and the HWWA.
