Evening All, so coming into tonight’s game were very happy with our start
to the campaign, 7 points from our 1st 3 games of which two were very tough away fix-tures is a great start. Kettering was a good solid win to start, they’re no push over and I’m sure will have no problems making the step up into our league.
Hungerford is always a tough place to go, they’re a very direct side and you always have to be ready to battle, we more than stood up to everything they threw at us, 0-0 was probably fair but we were definitely the better team on the night and it was good starting the season with back to back clean sheets.
The most recent game was the away trip to St Neots, a very good side who are 1 of the title favourites and a place we haven’t had much suc-cess in previous seasons, but what a win this time, walking away with 3 points in a very
good 3-2 win which should never have been so close. The boys were top drawer and created plenty of chances, as a back 4/5 were always gutted to concede but we’ll take the 3 points this time and kick on to tonight.
Chippenham have started the season very well so I’m sure this will be a very tough game, but this is where we need to be relentless and keep on picking up the points we need.
Get behind the lads as al-ways!
Up the Dolphins!

BOARDROOM NOTESChris ReevesVice Chairman
Tonight we welcome the current table toppers in the shape of our friends from Chippenham whose
players officials and supporters are most welcome to Tatnam.Three games three wins nine goals one conced-ed means they will come here full of confidence but perhaps with no greater amount than our own players who have thrilled us Poole supporters with a magnificent start to the new season. The fixture planners were not kind to us with the early fixtures but two wins and a draw and some sparkling football in the process have given us an excellent platform to go forward from.
Keith Emmerson set us on the way with as good a strike as you are likely to see anywhere at any level.St Neots late second meant a nervy last few minutes and to be frank gave a flattering look to the score so far as the home side were concerned. We played a great short passing game throughout the 90 minutes with every player playing his part.Luke Roberts was an inspired substitution by Tom and took his goal with great calmness- he had a long time to think about it as he bore down one on one with the keeper. His finish was just so cool! St Neots won’t be far away from the top of the table come May and that win will send out a strong message that we remain totally focussed with no hangover from last season’s disappoint-ment.
The squad that Tom James and Shaun have put together is looking so solid.Saturdays team was missing Alan Con-nell,Will Spetch,Lewis Lindsay through injury with a returning to fitness Jamie
Gleeson on the bench.Great strength in depth which will stand us in great stead for the rest of the campaign.
Next Saturday we have another big game in prospect with the visit of Mer-thyr.A good Tatnam crowd hopefully to out sing our Welsh visitors and help the lads onto another three points.
The season has started well but no laurels should be sat on.Each game has to be a fresh start. This is a strong league with a clutch of clubs who have spent big with big ambition. We will have to match and better our rivals which will take a collective effort from all involved including you the fans as your financial and numerical support is so vital to the cause - in fact without you we couldn’t do it!!
Enjoy the game and don’t forget the 50:50 tickets.
Chris

MATCH REPORT MATCH REPORT

Poole Town became the first visiting side this calendar year to claim a win at the Rowley Park Stadium
and they achieved it with a workmanlike team performance that had them leading at the break courtesy of a composed finish by Keith Emmerson.
Sargeant Emo had the perfect drill in the 38th minute when the ball fell to him in the Saints’ box and given time to pick his options the PT instructor made ab-solutely certain of the second Dolphins goal of the season, some 214 minutes after their previous strike!
It was a lead that the Dolphins increas-ingly looked like getting, despite the home side having the best of the very early chances forcing a couple of free kicks and striking the post before Poole really settled down.
Poole’s patience however was to pay off with Luke Burbidge and Marvin Brooks enjoying some neat one-two passing offences in the second period of the first half. Richard Gillespie had a shot well saved on 32 minutes and then gained no reward from the referee when he felt that experienced keeper Danny Gay had fouled him inside the box, a
corner the only offering from the man in black.
Poole sustained the pressure with Pet-tifer feeding a good cross to the head of Walker and the big man knocked it into the path of Burbidge but no clean contact could be made. But four minutes later Emmerson delivered that strike which Poole had to be content with going into break despite a number of other good attacking moves that were all thwarted over the final minutes of the half.
Saints made a change at half time with striker Bamoussa Cisse introduced at the expense of midfielder Lee Clarke, but it couldn’t prevent Poole from continuing with the same momentum and Gillespie found himself in a strong position on 48 minutes but again keeper Gay intervened to save the day. Poole kept the pressure on their hosts but without any further breakthrough it became apparent that their lead was all too fragile.
St Neots began to turn things around and won a couple of free kicks in strike-able distance within the first ten minutes of the re-start, but Poole resolutely de-

MATCH REPORT MATCH REPORTfended. Just before the hour mark Luke Holmes produced a weak effort after creating the Poole attack and shortly af-ter Lewis Tallack found his strong cross gathered up the keeper.
Cisse was in good position for the Saints in the counter attack but his effort was wasted. A handball by Holmes and his petulance in kicking the ball away in frustration earned him a yellow card and conceded a free kick.
As St Neots came forward from the set piece Remy Gordon picked up the cross on 66 minutes and from the left hand side of the box fired goalwards with Hutchings beaten as the ball shaved in off the post for the equaliser.
The hosts discovered some impetus and a corner had to be frantically dealt with by the Poole defence, but turned it quickly into an advantage as Devlin broke free, laid a ball through to Gilles-pie but the effort was scuffed.
Hutchings needed to be alert at the other end as Meechan needed dispos-sessing and the Poole keeper bravely dived at his feet and sent the ball down field.
Burbidge was in pursuit of what was a fifty-fifty ball and as Gay came for it Bur-bidge went down and received a yellow card for diving.
The frenzied action continued with Meechan turning well in the Poole area but to the Dolphins’ relief he fired over. Gillespie was replaced by Luke Roberts and it proved an inspired switch as the youngster’s first impact was to pick up a long ball played through from the back, remain ultra-cool to control and slot the ball to the left of the keeper to restore Poole’s lead (1-2).
Excellent defending from Lewis Tal-lack swamped out any instant retaliation from the home side and then on 80 minutes Luke Burbidge took posses-
sion, rode the challenge from Gay and nestled the ball into the open goal for a Dolphins’ third.
Holmes gave way to Davidson and St Neots completed their substitutions with a double switch as they tried to get back into the game. Jamie Anton had a good chance but looped the ball over the Poole goal before Connor Hall deftly evaded three tackles and fired in from close distance to narrow the deficit to just one at 2-3 with a matter of minutes remaining.
Sadly the match had a sour point as Remy Gordon sustained a broken tibula after a tackle by Davidson and the best wishes from all associated with Poole go to the midfielder who only joined St Neots in July. Poole had to defend tight as the Saints went in search of a late equaliser, whilst Luke Roberts’ match closed out with a yellow card after frustration got the better of him on the rare occasion the Dolphins got the ball outside their half in that frantic injury time period.

The Fan’s View
Jack Tanner gives his view on the match:
A strong first half performance by Poole formed a strong platform for the Dolphins to take all three points. A well struck 25-yard goal opened
the scoring, before Poole’s front trio ravaged the Saints’ defence to score twice more. A good result at
a tough ground to go to.

Today we embark on the first of two very welcome home fix-tures having completed jour-
neys to Hungerford and St Neots in the last week. Today’s opponents were strong last year but seem to have recruited well over the sum-mer and come here with a 100% record from their first three games. They will be full of confidence and ambition tonight and we need to have great awareness of the threat they pose.
I feel two wins and a draw from our first three represents a great re-turn taking into account the strength of the opposition we have faced and also the fact two games were away from home.
In our first fixture we were a little bit below par and after creating sev-eral opportunities that were missed we had to withstand some pressure at the end. Hungerford is always a dour fixture and this one was no different although after being a bit subdued in the first half I thought we were much better after the break.
At St Neots I thought we were excellent. On a beautiful playing surface we controlled the game and created numerous chances. We were the victim of several dubious refereeing decisions but still scored three great goals. We were a bit sloppy in conceding their second goal but apart from that I was de-
lighted with the way we played and it was a great match to watch.
We got positive results from Will Spetch’s scan last week and he should be back in action this week. Jamie Gleeson has also recovered and was fit enough to take his place on the bench on Saturday. Alan Connell was missing with a sore Achilles but should also be back tonight.
I thought young Luke Holmes was brilliant on Saturday and I know he will prove to be a top player for us. Those of you who haven’t seen him yet have got a lot to look forward to as he is an exciting talent.
I was so pleased to see young Luke Roberts on the score sheet on Saturday. I have great faith in Luke. He is young and still improving but has bags of raw talent and if he can take confidence from his finish on Saturday and show composure in front of goal he can have a bright future.
Today is another big test for us and let’s make it a great atmosphere with lots of noise so we can take another vital three points.

Hands up who’s happy with our start to the new season? Unbeatten, seven points from nine and sitting in
5th place, having survived the first three, tough games. Tonight we welcome Chippenham, the early League Leaders to Tatnam, the only team in the Southern Premier League with a 100% record. We like a challenge, Come on you Dolphins!
I would like to thank Colin MacDonald’s Stag Party who Sponsored the Kettering Match and Ball (now the Scottish branch of the Poole Town Supporters Club) and for picking Jamie Whisken as their Man of the Match. Whilst I did not make the game myself, I heard they had a great time and we wish Colin and Reka all the best for their upcoming wedding on Fri-day this week. Finally, a big thanks goes to Sam Morgan for being our Mascot last Saturday (see photos). For today’s game, Rockley Park have Sponsored the Match and the Ball has been sponsored by Clare Allen in memory of her late Father and former Tatnam regular Mike Allen, who would have been 70 this year. Clare has
shared the following picture of Mike with his wife, of happi-er times, whilst on holiday. Mike was a friend to all and had an unforgetta-ble laugh, earning him the nickname of chuckles. Jack
Jones is our Mascot tonight (see separate page for details). We hope you all enjoy the evening and hopefully see a Poole Town win.
If you or your company would like to sponsor a Match, Ball, Player, or know someone who would like to be a Mascot please get in contact. We have plenty of
availability. At the time of writing, Hutch, JD, Marvin and Luke Rob-erts are all looking for Sponsors and we are looking for a Match Sponsor and Mascot for the game against Frome on Saturday 31st August, plus Ball Sponsors and a Mascot for the Dorchester game on the 22nd September.
We still expect to be able to launch the new fans shirt (second strip) by the end of this month. Replicas of both the new first strip and the fans shirt can be ordered at the clubshop to-day. There are all kinds of other bargains to be had in the clubshop, so give Rob’s Pod a visit before you leave.
The annual golf day on Friday 25th Sep-tember 2015 when we will be returning to Canford Magna once again. Contact samantha@pooletownfc.co.uk for further information. The annual Sportsmans Dinner will be on Thursday November 12th with details to follow.
