Impersonal Constructions with “se”

Use “se” to avoid specifying the person who is doing the action

Se alquila apartamento. apartment for rent

It is always used in 3rd person singular or plural

Aquí se habla español. (singular él/ella form) Spanish is spoken here

¿Cómo se apaga la aspiradora?How does one turn off the vc?

Aquí se venden tarjetas telefónicas. (plural ellos/ellas form)

If the noun that follows the verb is plural, you use the ELLOS/ELLAS form of the verb.

Aquí se reparan carros.Cars are repaired here

You can use this construction with se in all tenses.

For example:

Se hizo mucho.--preterite

Se había hecho mucho.—past perfect

Se hará mucho.—future
