The project ''12 Sculptures from 12 Artists for 12 Months'' is dedicated to the informal, non-traditional manifestation of modern art forms in Latvia. This book, which we are introducing to you, developed spontaneously during the making of the work and covers the entire process in the realization of the project, from the choice of material to the different ways in which the completed works were displayed to viewers. The initial material, peat, is one of the most ancient of consumer goods, and, as you will see, offers an effective medium for plastic arts such as sculpture. Meanwhile the project grew to envelop various other arts: photography, music, video, graphic design and belles-lettres. www.peatprojects.com
