Auburn is rich with southern culture and localtraditions – out-of-towners have probably hearda lot about Auburn but are probably not awareof its roots.

The term "War Eagle" is used by Tigerssupporters to acknowledge and welcome otherfans, as well as being the school's officialwar cry.

The football team in Auburn is called the Tigers,and the official mascot of the university is Aubiethe Tiger. “War Eagle” is simply a battle cryand not a mascot or team name.

Toomer's Oaks is of great importance becauseit was around for 80 years and a place forfans to come together to celebrate.

Auburn fans have been known to throw toiletpaper in trees as a way of celebrating victories.

The lemonade from Toomer’s Drugs is a locallybeloved drink and is fresh squeezed right infront of you.

"The Plains" is another term used to describeAuburn and it dates back to a 1770 poem byOliver Goldsmith.

Despite its name, the War Eagle Supper Club isactually a late night bar where people head towhen all other bars in the area close.

Momma Goldberg's deli is a staple in Auburnbecause of its delicious food and longhistory in the town.

While it is true that Auburn has the Collegeof Agriculture, there is much more to it.

Auburn fans may sometimes be called"Barners", but it is not a polite term to usein this area.
