- 3. CLIMATE OF INDIAIndia is a vast country and has different
relief features. India has very hot and very cold regions has well
as regions with heavy rainfall and very scanty rainfall. A large
part of india has tropical monsoon climate. The climate of India
has been influenced by it's position, size, relief features and the
monsoon winds
- 4. The climate of India may be divided into four seasons 1.
Winter-December to February 2. Summer -March to May 3. South-West
Monsoon or Rainy season-June to September 4. Retreating Monsoon
October and November
- 5. WINTER Sun's rays fall vertically over the Sothern
Hemisphere. Hence India gets oblique rays of sun and the
temperature decreases. Day are bright due to sunlight but the night
are cold. Temperate cyclones which originate over the Mediterranean
sea and cause rainfall and snowfall in the north Wetern parts of
India

northern HemisphereTemperature is high in IndiaNorth Indian plain
has very high temperature because of long days and distance from
the sea. Dust storms and hot dry winds are common. Northern
mountain region and the Plateaus of Peninsular India are
cooler.Rainfall occurs at few places.Assam and West Bengal get some
rain.North-Western regions do not get only rainfallCoromandel Coast

- 7. Rainy Season June to September 75% of the avearge rainfall
Rajasthan develops a low pressure area. In India get rainfall from
South West monsoon. South West monsoon are moisture laden winds and
give heavy rain to a greater part of India. With the exception
Tamilnadu, most part of India get rainfall from the South-West
monsoon.
- 8. The Retreating Monsoon Season South West monsoon winds
started Retreating from the beging of the October due to decrease
in temperature and increasi in pressure there are called Retreating
monsoon winds. This is a transition period. Cyclonic depressions
are formed in the Bay of Bengal. Heavy rainfall to the Coast of
Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa. India gets about 13% of the
total annual rainfall durind this season.
