Aim & Objectives• Aim: To involve the whole community, not just the

youngsters, in actively participating in the development and progression of the Mini and Junior Section

• Objectives: Empower mums and dads, care givers, and the extended family to take on particular roles in the section

• To create and increase participation • To address social exclusion• To create healthy lifestyles through healthy shopping and

cooking and educate the young people (and as an aside, adults) in the value of keeping fit

• To build character and self respect through team play

Empowerment

• Empowerment is an enigma• Organizational empowerment includes shared

leadership, opportunities to develop skills, self expansion, and effective community influence

• Empowerment (in our case) represents an interaction between individuals and environments that is culturally and contextually defined.

Outcomes

• Funding: Coaching Course, Referee Courses, First Aid Courses and Health and Hygiene Courses

• Today the section is the sole responsibility of the parents Chair, Treasurer, Secretary etc.

• Pride and a new found confidence• All are volunteers
